I put a collar on Lola and she went nuts. See below.

Please excuse Dexter. He is taking a bath
A minute after the video ends she fell off the bed and I took the collar off. Anyone have any tips on how to get her to wear it without having her spaz out?

And some pictures.....

Dexter & Lola

And Mr. Milo who is too cool for kittens.

Milo doesn't do collars either. You put one on him and an hour later it's gone. I'll find them weeks later in the most unusual places. Dexter is quite happy to wear his. If you take it off he panics

They are adorable, and it sure looks like they love each other!

I'm sure Lola will get used to her collar. Though if you don't mind my asking - is she indoor only? I and other indoor only owners don't bother with collars. Holland is microchipped, and she's not a "door-dasher", so IMO the choking hazard of a collar is a bigger threat than her running away.

Oh, those kitties are beautiful! Poor Lola and her dance!

But, my cats are indoor only and I keep trying to get them used to the breakaway collars - both of them were picked up as adult strays and I always fear that one may just dash, and not be recognized as a 'pet kitty'. Also, folks without pets, and even some with pets, don't always know that many pets are chipped these days and that almost all vets and police departments should be able to scan for the chip - at least that's true in my area.

I'm thinking I'd like to try one of the collars that has contact info right on the collar itself - maybe it's the tag that makes my boy nuts, even though I take the bells off. And my girl was perfectly happy with her collar until she saw him getting his off.

I wonder with Lola if you tried putting the collar on just for a few minutes, then a treat and lots of loving, and then a few more minutes the next day, and treat and love, and rinse and repeat - if she'd end up going with it?

Yes she is indoor only. I do plan to harness & leash train her like her brothers. She will be microchipped as well when she is old enough to be spayed, the boys are both microchipped. I guess I just worry that they might get out and be mistaken for strays. Dexter's charm on his collar contains ALL his info. Name, phone number, address, microchip ID #, and vet's phone number. I guess I am a little paranoid. Milo has one too but if you put it on him it is off in an hour and Milo is a door dasher
Also I found that once the boys got used to their collars it was easier to put the harness on them. I only use break-away collars and I wont leave the collar on her full time until she seems comfortable in it.

This seems to be working. I put it on her today & she did her little dance. I pulled out the treats and she forgot she was wearing a collar

Lola is such a sweetie and a cutie. Poor girl went crazy with the collar. My boys are indoor only, and they don't have collars. I hope she gets used to it!

I love the pics of her with Dexter. He's such a good big brother to her.
