Here are the fosters we brought in last Thursday.

Big Boy Sebastian, a lover through and through. The back half of him is completely shaved as he was matted so badly.
He has sores that are healing due to the mats. What makes me SO mad is he LOVES to be brushed. It was neglect, pure and simple.

Poor, sick little Mama, Angel Marie and her 4 remaining kittens.
They're all suffering from the shelter URI, in fact almost all of the fosters currently do.

THEN this afternoon, my friend Angela, who works at the shelter, calls asking me if I have room for any more, completely histerical. These 6 babies were all on death row, and would have been put to sleep by now if we didn't take them. Yes, most of them have the upper resp. and the shelter is full, but they are ALL so sweet, loving, and will be well again in NO time! I don't know how many death row kitties we have fostered and found forever homes for... I had to let these guys have a chance.

The 5 boys.

Rio

Waldo

Watson

Filbert

Ernest

Little girl, Pria

On a happier note, foster kitten Lucius was aopted tonight!

Awww! They're adorable, even if they do look a bit under the weather.

Something about Angel Marie and her babies just melts my heart. I'm so glad you could take them all in and I'm sure they'll be feeling better in no time.

Congrats Lucius! Great name by the way!

I am so glad that you were able to take them all in!

Lola was sitting on my lap when I went through your pictures and when she saw Rio she got up walked across the laptop and put her nose on his picture. I think she likes him

Awww, a budding romance in the making!

They're all so sweet and tolerable when it comes to having the ointment in their eyes, and even those who need saline didn't fight me at all, almost like they know I am helping them.
They're incredible... We have the vaporizers going in their rooms too, to help them breath, but other than the baby kittens, I'm not worried at all.

Awwwwww.....such sweet little kitties! I'm so glad they have a safe place to get better and then be adopted - as I'm sure they will. They're all adorable, but I said, "Ohhhhhh" out loud at that picture of Sebastian! Such black and white fluffiness!! You know I'm a big fan of black and white fluffiness.

Ohhh, they are SO cute!! Congrats Lucius!
I hope the other little cuties find their way home soon. I love the pic of Ernest on the Shrek blanket. He doesn't look so hot, but I'm certain he will be feeling better in NO time!

And I can't say it enough - Kailie, BLESS you for everything that you do. My wish is to someday be in a position to foster, although I don't know if I could stand it. If it were up to me, I'd be the crazy lady with 100 cats in my house!

When you foster this many cats at one time, do they each have their own room? It's obvious they are not in cages, and when fostering, you can't take the time to properly integrate with your own cats, so how do you do that? Just curious.

I have 2 foster rooms that I keep my fosters in. I did have one, but then I changed my spare room into another foster room LOL. I currently have Angel Marie with her babies, and Pria in 1 room and Sebastian and the young boys in another. (Sebastian is neutered, but the death row kitties aren't too far off from sexual maturity and we don't want any accidents. In these rooms I have lots of cat beds as well as a cat tower for them to play on. I don't integrate my fosters with my own cats because I 1) want to keep my own babies happy and 2) want to keep my own babies HEALTHY. Plus the fosters never stay TOO long.
I get them well and then it doesn't usually take me too long to find them forever homes. I DO have cages to use if I need to seperate someone for some reason, but I don't use them unless completely necessary.

Also, in regards to them being sick. All of the young babies were all housed together in one small cage at the shelter, so they are used to being in contact with each other. Angel Marie and Sebastian already came with the same URI. When leaving the foster rooms I always make sure to wash my hand throughly, however my cats never get sick. When there are sick fosters in our home, we make sure to keep my babies as well as the fosters on L-Lysine and in all my years of fostering, I have never had my babies get sick.

Alright, don't know how I missed seeing these before I went away for the weekend, but I'm glad I scrolled down far enough this evening to be able to see this thread. As you know, I can never resist commenting on your Excellent Eight or fosters. I don't know what it is about where you live, but you've got the market on cute...be it kitties, ratties, or, well, probably anything
. You've got to send whatever is in your water down here to me in Cleveland, Ohio. Either that or I need a passport -- ha ha!

Okay, Sebastian. Is he not an absolutely stunning cat?! I love long-haired black and white kitties and he is just gorgeous! It's disgusting that his prior owners (I can barely write out that word without gagging
) were so neglectful. Thank goodness he is receiving the love and care he needs now. And, I've got no doubt that he'll find the right home quickly. I mean, really, who could pass him up?!

Poor mama and babies. Seeing Angel Marie's pic just about broke my heart. I know that she'll be okay (and I'm pulling for the wee ones), but it's just so sad to see a kitty who is sick. She looks so pitiful, but, yet, she is very pretty. And, those babies -- they're going to be lookers as well, I'm sure.

Oh, and bless your heart for taking in the little guys and also for finding Lucius his forever home. He was such a cutie-patootie and I'm thrilled to know he'll be loved and cherished from this point on by his new family. The boys and Pria are just too precious for words. But, man, that little Waldo just grabbed at my heart. As I've said time and time again, it's a very good thing I live so far away. If I were closer, Waldo would be coming home to me in a heartbeat! He is so freakin' adorable! It's too bad everyone's got URI's, but at least they're being cared for. I'm sure they'll be healthy and ready for their new homes in no time.

All of your current fosters are precious, but I need to request more pics of Sebastian and Waldo
. I think I'm in love
.

Sebastian is being adopted already! A friend of my Aunt's has applied for him, woohoo!

I am sorry to say that since these pictures were posted, 2 more of Angel Marie's kittens have passed, the 2 males. The 2 remaining torbie female kittens are doing great however, nursing well and growing.

RIP poor kittens. At least you tried with them.
Fantastic news about Sebastian. I'm not surprised he got adopted quickly, he's gorgeous!
Thank you for all you do in fostering all these cats.
