For real! I've had a rough past 2 weeks, lost my job due to company move, 100+ degree weather, jury duty the past 2 days, and the icing on the cake is that I have an ant problem on my back rooftop attacking my plants and now inside my apartment from construction next door! I can't figure out the main place they are coming in, but I have done everything to deter them and deal with these jerks (being very polite) doing the construction! They had the rooftop covered with plank boards and sand bags over a year ago, ofcourse the sand bags broke up and I had to clean it up. I am also responsible for keeping the drain clean on this level which has been a real challenge! I never had an ant problem before and now they are not only infesting certain flowering plants but in my apartment for the second time this year! I have killed atleast 20 the past 2 days on the floor and my computer desk which is a few feet from my bed! I went to talk to the supervisor of the construction who in the past has made a lot of promises but never come through, I just wanted an answer as to when the boards were going to be removed and he told me I had to talk to my landlord about that, like it's my responsibility to remove them when they put them there
!!!!!!! I tried to be nice but it ended up in a full out " I am done trying to be nice, I have put up with so much sh*t from you a**h**es, thats it I am filling complaints with the city!" They have even boarded up what was our kitchen windows with moldy plank wood and claim that it was legal for them to do that, can believe it? There excuse was our windows were illegal, , how is that possible if there was never a building next to ours before??!!!

Are the they large black ants? Any have been coming into my house and I don't know where from and yikes if I leave anything sweet in the sink-lots of them. If you can get your hands on diazanon that will take care of them. Otherwise post a pic of them and I'll get it to my supplier of pesticides who will advise me of what to use.

So whats up with the job? YIKES!!

If you have cats inside, you need to be careful about what you put out to kill them. I am sorry you are having such problems and hope you get it all resolved.

Thank you everyone for your support and advice, I was so mad that day! That night I sprayed the perimeter of my rooftop and all around my windows and doors with Ortho Home Deffense Max, which is safe for humans and pets after it dries, mind I only sprayed it out side. Then I did a thorough vacuuming, and then heavy Murphy's soap on the hardwood floors. Haven't sen one in the apartment since (fingers crossed) and this morning when I was watering out back I was
to see no ants around my plants
! As usually I have successfully cleaned up after someone else's mess again, next is beginning the complaint process against the construction next door........
