The Mustang is due to arrive in about 10 days, and we bought some 05-09 Bullet wheels for it. We want to black out either the entire rim, or just the spokes and leave the silver lip. The Mustang in the picture is just about exact to ours (except missing the spoiler). We had a friend photo shop the wheels. I'm torn between them! One minute I like one, the next minute I like the other. Hubby says whatever I want we'll go with. He asked his ex yesterday when she messaged him on FB, and he won't tell me what she said because he wants me to pick what I want, not the opposite of what she wants
Just getting other people's opinions and seeing what TCS thinks!

OPTION A - ALL BLACK:

OPTION B- BLACK SPOKES:

Option A seems to give the car a sweet look, whereas to me, B looks like many other cars I see often....so thats why I voted A!

My first instinctive choice was also A once I saw the photo shopped pics. We had originally been thinking A before we saw the pics also. Our friend decided to photo shop B for us also as something different.

I saw the silver/black wheels on a red Mustang yesterday and didn't think it flowed well with the red. I think it would look better on white and/or silver cars. A lot of argument we're hearing about the black is that it looks one-dimensional, don't know where the wheels end/tires begin, etc. If we do it, it is going to be satin black, not a flat black, to give it a less-cheapy look (flat black looks like spray paint to me!) Some are telling us to get black chrome rims, but I'm not buying another [expensive] set when I already have the Bullets ready and waiting to be powder coated! We got the 4 Bullets with $400 worth of drag radials on them (the 2 rear tires) ... for $475.

The interior of the car is going to be charcoal black, another reason I think the wheels look good all black. The two-tone makes me sort of think of the "beauty rings" some cars used to have, that snapped in. (And many popped out!)

But then I still think that one doesn't look too bad either
I probably just need to go with my first choice and stop staring at the pictures
I think I'm staring at them so much because it's so close now!

I voted for B. Granted no matter what its your choice and A does look nice but I picked B for kind of an odd reason. Nowadays since the Mustang went back to a more classic muscle car design you are seeing a lot of the newer style in car shows. The 'beauty ring' is something that went along with muscle cars, kind of like the kreger (sp?), style wheel itself. For that reason, and the fact that that style appeals to me I chose B. B is actually the style of rim we are looking for when we finally replace Bertha since she has frame cancer (the rear frame is starting to rust) and has a terminal diagnosis to not make it to next years inspection.

Since it seems like you and your hubby are into cars, take your new car out and check out some car shows. You guys might find some really neat ideas for the car if you want to add stuff to it. If you have a chance try and check out the newer Shelby limited edition Mustang, I believe that since they started the new style they have made a limitied number of the Shelby style everyyear...Only about 400 or so. I saw one 2 weeks ago and OMG was it AWESOME!!! There are also Cobra packages you can get too for the newer mustangs, not as valuable if its not a factory cobra style but it really jumps up the value and if you do take your new car to a show and enter it it gives it a little something extra compared to the rest.

Sorry for babbling...Truck show this weekend to look for parts for our 66 Ford F-100 we are restoring (for ourselves) and then about 4 more car shows coming up...I get to drive the newly painted Nova that sounds just evil!! BF is even gonna teach me how to do burnouts.
How freakin cool is that!

I voted B. Theres not many here have black trims, and when i see black ones it looks like the trims have been stolen

Here, if you have a nice set of trims you show them off

LMAO! This truck wont be done for atleast a year and already we have mentally spent what feels like a million bucks. But then again this is a personal car not a quick fix and sell car like his dad does so its going to have a lot more money into it. BF is hoping that when its done and if someone wants to buy it he will get atleast 30K for it if not more. Its going to be all black and chrome with the possibility of turning it into an older fashioned Harley truck..The options are up in the air but atleast Ill be able to drive it before BF does..Haha..

Sorry for a mini hijack....

So after some more thinking, we're going to go with B.

If we decide we don't like B and want A, all we have to do is ADD paint to the rest of the wheel. If we did A and didn't like it, we couldn't remove it to go to option B!

9 days and counting until the baby should be here

Woohoo awesome choice...That is the easiest way. Its literally impossible to take away paint but sure is easy to add it. Good choice I cant wait to see some pics of your new baby and its wheels!

Got the news today that it has been shipped and was currently going through Walbridge, OH on CSX. I have a rail car number and everything, but CSX doesn't let you track it unless you're an established customer. My dealer can, we'll see how often he wants to be bothered
I was SHOCKED he emailed me without me asking him today, getting an update is like pulling teeth! I have two friends who work for CSX, going to see if they can track it every couple days for me, this car is like a drug

The dealer told me it will be here within 10 days. YAYYYY.
Hopefully hubby plans on bringing the wheels for powder coating ASAP.
