I rescued a feral kitten when he was 1 1/2 years old back in 2004. He stayed at my mothers as I could not take him as I had cats one that peed everywhere. Anyway he was always in one room for about 6 years but she did let him out to run around, She had a lot of cats and they did not get a long. Anyway My other cats just passed away within the last 6 months. So after 2 months I finally took the feral cat. He's a gray long haired cat. First of all he loves it here and gets to see the greenery and has freedom. But He never meows and he loves the screened in porch. Perhaps it brings back his old feral days. He's not peeing every day. He seems fine and happy but perhaps all the excitement from outside and the freedom inside he does not eat that much or go to the bathroom. Any ideas. Should I restrict him more for a while or let things go naturally? His intake of water etc is not that much nor is the food though he eats a little. He's about 8 years old now

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

You're boy is 8 now, and though I bet he'll hate it he's due for a full vet check up and a senior blood panel.
His decrease in eating and subsequent lessening of using the litter box could all be related to stress, but it could also be from a serious illness - which stress can bring on.
What's his name, by the way?

well he did go to the bathroom so all is well there. I think new surroundings have stressed him but he's a happy guy,Has the whole house to himself. After my last cat died suddenly 2 months ago and I brought her in saying her stomach looked swollen on a monday and was not eating and they said she just could be constipated come that saturday she was not good at all still not eating so I went back they did an xray and saw ascites had to put her down 3 days later. Soo I'm not fond of vets. This cat has had rabies and has never gone outside since we had him with no intentions of doing so. So I need to find a vet I can trust and like???
oops his name is Kitty I call him kittybelle

Definitely do so. It's never wise to wait till an emergency to find a decent vet. Do you know any other cat owners in your area? It's usually better to ask cat owners for vet recommendations than it is to ask people that just have dogs.
Indoor cats can get ill, too. It could be anything and even though Kitty has had his rabies vac before, he still needs some check ups - a yearly check up is best, but I do understand former ferals are tougher to get in.
He does need a full one now, though. It's just not normal for a cat to not pee or poop for an entire day.
I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your other cat. It sounds like it was pretty sudden, it must have been traumatic for you.
