Hey everyone. Since I had an excellent day at work today, I decided I'd make a thread for all of your good days. Whenever your having a good day, post here. Alternatively, if you're having a bad day and want some vibes or hugs, come on in. So now on to why I had a good day.

Today I was out by an Air Force base at Bushell Park helping an RCMP officer move. Well when me and my partner got there, we were expecting to move 9000 LBS but as it turned out we were just packing things up to get it ready to be moved tomorrow. That alone makes it a good day because that's extremely easy and usually fast, but to make it better she was also a cat lover and had 3 cats, one of which followed me everywhere to make my day even more enjoyable
. And then to top it off, she bought us coffee and lunch
.

How was your day?

Gee having a kitty there was probably like being home!

My day was kind of a waste. Although no day is a waste, I am thankful for every day I have. But it is hovering in the low 90's here. So I close up the house early in the day when it is only like 70's. So when it's 89 outside it's like 75 inside.

But then it's too hot to go outside and putter around which is my favorite thing to do. And I love to have my windows all open to hear the birds. Now just the sound of fans. I don't let the cats out into their enclosure either. They have their fans too.

It's supposed to be hot all week. I just don't get much accomplished. How do people live in Florida in July?

where to start, so over the last couple of days the Megane has been "under the weather" well Blaine looked at it and its looking like the turbo has decided to throw a wobbler
so with that on its way out he doesnt want to use the car and for all the bits its goin to need to put it right and everything else thats wrong with it we are looking at about £2000 so its off the road for a while and he doesnt get paid till the end of the month so its difficult to find a cheap run about.

then ive been called into work for a staff meeting that i wont get paid to even be at

im just riht down in the dumps today

It is my day off, so it is a good day, even if I had a ton of things to do this morning. This afternoon I have just been on the couch napping a watching tv. I have a roast in the crockpot and it smells wonderful. I hope someone will call me about the truck I have for sale so I can get the car I bought 3 months ago tagged and on the road tomorrow. If not it will be another week.

I know the feeling. I hate those unpaid staff meetings. And I hate to hear about the car. I hope you can get a good price and good service on it

My day was pretty boring today. I didn't get to go back to where I was yesterday unfortunately. I'm one of only 2 people at my company who have their 1A license and I was needed elsewhere. Or so I thought. I was expecting to load 16000 pounds but instead it was only 6000. I guess it was a typo. So I got that done and then there was nothing else to do so I just sat in the warehouse for a few hours looking for something to do. But I don't mind getting paid to do nothing

Bad day - the heat - oh my goodness, walking home from my part-time job was like walking in an oven. It's like "Twilight Zone" hot. Barforama.

Good day - the woman I've basically worked for at my job is leaving.
She is psycho. She got another job. Yay! Tomorrow's her last day.....double yay!! ( I would say I feel awful for saying that, but I don't.)

I'd have to say today was neither here, nor there.
Good: I got a bunch of things done at work that I needed to do and DH took me out for Sushi for dinner since it was too hot to cook.

Bad: It's
hot out! I generally dislike summer anyway, but the heat is just awful. Add to that the fact that we're an official "Heat Alert Cooling Centre" at work so I've been run off my feet for 2 days solid now and I'm sure the heat is making people a bit crazy.

Yesterday, I slammed my finger in my car door. It hurt so bad I nearly fainted. My husband had to leave work and come get me (I wasn't home) because I couldn't drive. He took me home so I could doctor my badly, badly bruised finger and we found someone had tried to break into our house. Our dog who's almost totally deaf, isn't so deaf that she didn't hear the glass breaking. She sent them packing. I was only gone an hour. If I hadn't slammed my finger in the door, I wouldn't have been home for hours. And since it was so bad that I needed my husband's help, we found the violation together. Nothing was taken, no pets were hurt and the cops got a fingerprint off our window (SCORE 1 FOR US!!!!) so what seemed very bad actually turned out ok in the end. Hard to complain about what happened to us when 4 houses were broken into yesterday afternoon. Some of our neighbors lost stuff.

My day was going well until I took my Chef Boyardee Beefaroni cup out of the microwave at work, and spilled scalding sauce all over my left hand. My thumb is still hurting now - it covered my entire thumb.

I did get to go to the beach after work, but I didn't even enjoy it as much as usual today. There's always tomorrow for a better day

Today was pretty good, my first day of school!! Intro to Accounting at 8AM (eek!) and Business Law online. Gonna be a tough 6 weeks!!

I finished an Associates degree in Liberal Arts 9 years ago, and I finally decided to get my butt back in school, and am going to try for a Paralegal certificate. Or maybe Accounting.... Gosh I am so bad with goals and decisions...
In either case though, I only have to take about 10 classes since I have an A.A. degree. Nice!

Also good today is that I think our house deal is FINALLY actually really going to happen! We might even get to close this Friday!!!! Still, keep your fingers crossed please!
BF and I won't be completely happy til we get those keys!

And now I am ready for bed. Sleep well!

There's no place like home
I'll count today as a good day. I'm doing some major renovations in my house and some progress is finally being made. I'm hiring out some of the work to get things roughed in, then DH and I are going to do the finishing details.

The contractor got the rest of my bathroom walls ripped out and I picked out the new bath tub that is going into that room. He needed the details of the tub to run the plumbing into the room. He's going to obtain new interior doors for me at wholesale prices (most of my doors have patched holes in them).

I was trying to find a decent priced electrician for about a year and found one today. His rates are absolutely outstanding (unfortunately low for him since the company he worked for, for the last 20 years, went out of business and he is desperate for work). And he comes highly recommended.

And I'm pretty sure I found a source for high quality, low priced bamboo flooring. Yes, I'm ripping out the carpet and putting in bamboo. And when I say I, I mean me. I get to learn how to use a pneumatic floor nail gun. We gave the carpet in this house 1 year when we bought the house 4 years ago. It looked good for 6 months and I've been living with bad carpet for 3-1/2 years now.

Foot by foot, progress is being made.

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
Its earlyyyy....BF is already off to work. He had yesterday off cuz they were moving equipment to the place they are working at now. They are remodeling the front of the Alexander Toyota dealership on the strip. Its going to be long days but steady work for a while which is good. Its AWESOME though knowing we are getting a steady GOOD paycheck. I can actually start price shopping for my "I Want List" and big bonus, I got an email yesterday from my Borders Rewards membership that gives me a 50% off coupon off the new Nora Roberts book...Its hardcover so its like $30 but Ill get it cheap! WOOHOO! How awesome is that!

Even bigger bonus I wont have to deal with the evil psycho skeezer step mother for a year! BFs dad and step mother have a year left on their unemployment (they work at nuclear power plants) and just bought an RV and are going traveling! Awesome!!!!! Now I dont have to pretend to be nice to her when all I want to do is scream at her and tell her how twofaced and skeezy she is after the nasty stuff she said about BF. *That happened back in April and I have spoken to her 3x since then..and not by choice* Im so happy BF isnt working for his dad anymore, he makes over a $100 more a week than what his dad paid him a month, and his dad and step mother go away!! Even though Im really tired Im super happy and ready to do the happy dance!!

Yesterday was a good day..DH was home for dinner and we went to a movie and spent some quality time. When I came home from work, he had bought me an outfit, and had it laid out on the bed for me. What a sweety

Today, it is hot again...but I am trying to embrace it. At least it isn't snow!

Today has been very much an emotional rollercoaster for me so far.

Bad: First thing this morning I ended up with a migraine, probably due to the stress of losing a foster kitten last night and knowing that the others are quite sick and I'll probably end up losing at least 1 if not 2 more soon.
Then we end up paying another $200 to fix the care when we JUST payed to have the same thing fixed last week! THEN earlier this afternoon I get a distressed phone call from my friend Angela, who works at the shelter I foster for, asking if I can take in anymore kittens as they we doing a mass euthanization due to being extremely over crowded.
How can I say no, even though I already have 2 adult fosters and 5 kitten fosters.
It's a good thing I have 2 foster rooms now.

Good: We've had 2 kittens adopted from ca-R-ma today.
Aside from that, within 20 minutes of advertising my foster, Lucius, for adoption, I have 2 potential adopters, one of which is coming to meet him tonight!
