I remember this made the rounds here a couple of years ago, but I ran across it again, and thought you all might enjoy it. You have to put the colors in the correct order on the spectrums, and then submit your score to see how well you did. The lower the score, the better.

My score was 14

I scored a 7, which is embarrassing since I am an artist
............I thought I was spot on!

That was interesting. I scored an 8 and found I had 2 areas of the spectrum where I have difficulties - in the turquoise and lavender areas.

I'm not an artist, but I do love to blend fabric colors when I sew.

The first 3 (especially the top 2) were difficult for me. 4th was easiest. Score = 16 (So I guess 0 is best) The way I chose:

I scored an 8. I, too, thought I was spot on. By the fourth set, though, my eyes were beginning to blur. And, after that, it became increasingly difficult. But, it was very interesting overall and I was pleased to see that it was less hokey than many other online "IQ" tests.

I'm sending a link to my roommate who is an artist and an art therapist. I'll be interested to see where she falls on the spectrum. She has such an eye of color (although sometimes she doesn't match clothes-wise, but who am I to judge
) and is almost intuitive where it is concerned. If I scored an 8, while I do consider myself an artist, I'm certain she will score even lower than I did.

Thank you for posting this. It's piqued my interest, for sure...

I think I might have been the one who posted the test before. Since my husband, Rob, is a Quality Manager for a furniture company, he has to give a colour test to all employees before allowing them to work with stains. It's amazing how many people do not realize that they are limited when it comes to colour differences.

Here's the test that Rob gives to his employees:

Munsell Eye Colour Test

If I remember correctly, I think Rob said that the most errors occur in the blue range.

I remember that, I had a perfect score. A few of the others that did, or got very close, were people who have had to very closely match colors in real life.

I sort things by hue all the time. Most recently I had some old seed beads that were mixed together. I sorted all the colors, and separate hues, apart. There were four different shades of red in the mix.
Bright red and orange are the colors that are hardest for me (and not on that test), due to brightness my eyes get all weird.

ETA: Did it again and still got a 0. I do have an old monitor the needs to be replaced and my eyes are currently giving me a lot of trouble (bad dry eye flare up).

Again, the secret is to blur your vision a little to see if the colors blend smoothly. If they don't, you put a square in the wrong place.

I got a 20, but I didn't really take my time and went through it reallly quickly so I am going to re take it when I have more patience... It's a long test and my attention span is rather short
