Hi to everyone,
As My title states, Im a newbie here, a little unsure were i am suppose to post anything so if Im in the wrong place here I apologise!!!

My story is! I will do this as briefly as possible!

I have 2 female cats both 3years old.
They both have been with me since they was 6weeks old. They are from different litters.

I have noticed for apprx 12 months now that they seem to be very intorrable of eachother, they cannot even pass eachother without some sort of fight between them.
They both seem to want to attack eachother were as one time they was so close, I have no favourite at all, they both get the same love and attention, I love them both so much but it is really horrible and upsets me to see how much they now hate eachother.

Is this normal in how cats behave? or is there something I can do here to put a stop to it.

Grateful to anyone with help or advice

Sharon x

Hi Sharon, and welcome! Are your cats both spayed?

hello!
Thanks for reading my post!

Yes, they are both spayed, since about 8 months old.

My advice is:

If neither has been to the vet recently, bring them in for check ups.

Install feliway plug in diffusers one diffuser per every 400 sq feet in your home.

Have at least three (better, four) litter boxes in the house, with one in a different place than the others.

Have at least two cat trees so both have elevated space.

If possible separate them and begin introductions as if they are new to each other.

Use the vanilla trick: put cooking vanilla (not perfume) on the nose/chin and root of tail of each cat. This makes them both smell the same, levels the field.

In a rush now, will come back later with more.

Hi, and welcome to TCS!
The advice above is excellent. The only thing I can think of to add is to not get too upset when your cats aren't getting along. In my experience, a raised voice or signs of human distress can aggravate the problem. Speck and Daisy did not get along well at first, it took them months. But now they are the best of friends. Welcome again and look forward to seeing you on the boards! I know you'll love it here!

At the kitty's beck and call
Hi there
we're so happy to get the chance to welcome you and your kitties to TCS. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay with us - we're one great big family and you'll find loads of friends here. If I can help at all while you're finding your way around TCS just click on my username and send me a Personal Message - I'll do what I can to answer your questions.

Sorry to hear that you're worried about their behaviour - have you tried posting a question in the Behaviour area of the site? There may be somebody with more behavioural expertise there who could help you - although you've had some good advice here. I presume in all this they're not just playing (ours tear about all over the place playing) and that you have seen signs of aggression. Hope it works out soon
