Well here we are in the summer heat and a lot of us are pretty pale so my question today is...

What do you do to get a tan, do you lie in the sun or use some type of tanner.

I use what they call tan towels. Itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s just a moist towelette and itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s so easy to use. You just rub the towelette over whatever part of your body you want to tan, I usually just do my arms and legs since thatâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s what shows the most when Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m dressed. Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve never used it on my face altho you could but Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m afraid I would not do it properly and have a dark face and a white neck
Sprays would be a mess and so would gels. This is the best product Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve ever used for self tanning. It takes two to four hours for the tan to appear so I usually do it during the day when I'm staying home or at night. It never gets on my clothes or bed sheets.

Since I can't stay out in the sun very long plus the sun is a no no as we all know, this self tanner works great for me.

HAPPY

Yuck, skin cancer! I would never lie in the sun for a tan. I am fair skinned and we have skin cancer in our family. No thanks!

I used moisturizer with a tint
I am starting to embrace my paleness

I avoid the sun as much as possible actually.

I hate the sun. (When I see a lot of sun I know it will be hot and there's only so many clothes they will allow you to take off in public and not get arrested; especially girls)

I hate sweating.

I hate heat. (I'm hot 98% of the year even up here in the North woods)

I hate pollen. I hate grass. I hate maple trees.

I hate these last three because: I hate welts. I hate itching.

Yeah.. summer is NOT my favorite season. The only good thing about is that it's warm enough up here to swim during the summer.

Well, I live in No. CA and I do aqua aerobics once a week and have a pool at my complex (have one at the house I still own, too) which I use. I use sun screen on my body and a special moisturizing one on my face. I pretty much have a tan year round. No skin cancer in my family.

You're a woman after my own heart. I hate the summer with a passion and everyone who knows me knows that. I wish it were November already and just skip the whole hot, humid, buggy summer. I just can't see what people really enjoy about the summer. For me, I can't wait till it's gone.

I'm allergic to everything, so I hate spring, summer and fall from that perspective LOL.

But I love the breeze, I love the sunshine, I love the long days... I practically mourn on June 21 because I know that slowly the days are getting shorter.

But I don't worry about a tan anymore. I overdid it as a kid before we knew just HOW bad the sun is for us. But we need that 15 minutes a day for our vitamin D.

I have a spray tan - it makes the shower smell. I've had the bottle for - a couple of years now. LOL. The couple of times I've used it I wind up with streaks on my feet.

I lay out on the beach as often as possible after work in the sun. Been working great
I need the sea breeze to make the sun bearable

Same here!!

I'll walk about when the suns shining, but i never sunbathe because of the damage it does to the skin, and obviously cancer. One of our friends is a true sun worshipper and she goes really brown, but towards the end of the summer she looks all patchy from too much of it.

In the summer i'll use a tanning lotion, but only a medium tint because i don't want to look orange like it can make you

I'm in the "white" group - I do not tan by sun or inside tanning booth. I prefer to have less wrinkles and do not want to risk getting skin cancer.

As we are on a farm and most of our work is outside all the time I am pretty tanned, I hate having too many cloths on so am usually in cut offs and no sleave t shirts in the summer, but when I am not working then I am in the shade

With landscaping I cannot avoid the sun. My arms are really tan. I wear a hat so keep my face protected (and sunscreen too). Though I do have age spots on my wrist already from the sun.

My twin sunbathed much longer than I did and it shows in her face.

I don't tan on purpose. I also don't wear sunscreen unless I'll be out all day, because I'm not convinced that rubbing chemicals all over my skin on a daily basis is a good idea. Skin cancer does run in the family, basal cell and squamous cell but not melanoma. Though melanoma isn't genetic so that doesn't matter. In the summer I end up with a farmer's tan
. In the winter I get as pale as humanly possible, I think.

I'll use a bit of self tanner early in the summer so the glare off my legs doesn't blind anybody. Other than that I don't bother. I don't know why Americans think a tan looks better anyway. I grew up in Japan and they spend all their time trying to prevent tanning. One lady I knew even wore long gloves while driving so her arms wouldn't get tanned, LOL.

My mom had skin cancer. The time she spent in the sun as a life guard didn't help. I'm pale and it doesn't bother me anymore. I don't like the sun or the heat and humidity. I never tan anyway--just burn--I wish it could be autumn all year round.

Tanning is something you do when you can't find shade. I would never tan on purpose. Besides, it would burn the bright colors out of my tattoos.

I don't tan, I don't care about looking tan, and I'm not about to put any gross dyes all over my skin. If the chemicals in them didn't result in a terrible rash, then the smell would do me in. I can't stand strong smells of any kind, if I'm lucky I just get a headache and if I'm not lucky I gag so much that I get sick.

So I just stay out of the sun as much as possible.

I'm heat intolerant, but summer is nice. Things are growing, there's no cold winds, and my turtles are awake - if you only had 6 months out of the year to enjoy your cats you'd look forward to that time.

I don't tan on purpose. I'm a red head with fair skin and TONS of freckles. I use sun screen when I go outside in the summer but don't reapply as often as I probably should. What happens is that I get more freckles and those make me look more tanned. I'm waiting for the day when the freckles all connect. Freckles rule!!

I love the heat of summer. I rarely turn on my A/C but crank up the ceiling fans and leave all the windows wide open to catch the breeze.
