She spends all day away from them now and won't let them nurse unless it's on her terms. I have one male that refuses to eat dry food. All of the other kittens are nice and plump and eating food and using the litter box just fine but this one boy won't eat the food and only wants mom but she's pushing them away. I don't know what to do since mom won't feed him half the time and I cannot leave out anything but her food for them because she'll eat it and get sick. She has to stay on the pea and duck or pea and chicken food. They are 6 weeks old tomorrow. He seems very healthy just on the thin side. He plays with the other kittens and plays with us he just wants momma milk.

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

I think mom is weaning kittens
Well, I think we will be okay now. I bought them a bag of Kitten Chow to teach them to eat dry food and none will touch it but him. Such an odd ball but that's the only food he cares for so he will get fed separately for a while.

I would be offering raw meat or wet food, even if you take the kittens out to feed then put back with mum if you don't want her to eat it. And perhaps a dish of KMR.
She may be coming back into season which can cause them to pull away from the kittens.

I am not doing raw nor spending the money for KMR for 6 week old kittens. They all drink water and they are all growing and terrorizing. I think he just didn't like a pea smelling food because he eats the other fine. I'm not on board with wet food because the only food good for them is not in my price range. Thank you for your suggestion.

I don't know what it is, but my guys just LOVED the kitten chow too! The shelter gave us this other, probably higher quality stuff, and one bag of kitten chow. We were using the other stuff, but than one night they litterally ripped open the bag of kitten chow and started eating out of it! They kept finding a way to get to the bag, and hey just wouldn't eat the other stuff! I guess I'll never know...

Be glad Carly is weaning the kittens. Baby Girl wasn't starting to so I started offering them wet food and they loved it. But our kittens will be 10 weeks Monday and Baby Girl STILL nurses them. She will call them and get them rounded up just to nurse them several times a day. They eat dry food, drink water, and get wet food for dinner. Lol.
