Yesterday, hubby and I made a road trip over to the next town. He put me out at the pet store and I visited the cats there as I have done in the past. While I was walking toward them, this long lanky tuxedo cat stands up. He sticks his paw out the door and tries to open it. All the while he is talking to me. When I put my fingers there, he reaches out his paw and grabs them. His name was Tuxedo Sam and he was eleven mos. old. His mother, Matilda, was in the cage next to him and she was talking to me too. It was a good visit, but hard to walk away and leave them there. Sam was very much like my Rainbow Bridge, soulmate cat, Max. I think if I had brought Sam home, Muffin would have thought he was Max. I hope these two cats will find a wonderful home. I just can't do it anymore. I have two, and just don't want to add another cat at this stage. I have said before, if I reach the catless stage I think I might help the local animal welfare with fostering, or I might give a home to a senior cat. Prayers for Tuxedo Sam and Matilda to find a home where they will be loved and for me to forget Sam.

I know it's hard to go in there. But I, like you, am drawn to that area of the store.

My heart breaks for these beautiful animals. I hope Matilda and Tuxedo Sam find a good home.

I will keep them in my prayers.

Two of my cats came from our local Humane Society - and I didn't pick either of them out. I CAN NOT go there and see all the animals - I would want every one of them. I can't do pet stores, either, for the same reason. Wish I could. I support our local humane society, but I just cannot go. I admire ANYONE and EVERYONE who works in rescue - very much!

All my cats are strays/animal shelter rescues. I cannot walk by a cat or kitten without wanting it. I have been so heartbroken over Marshmallow that I am not going to get another for a while. But the other day, I went with my friend to the animal shelter to pick a work contract. (A few of our inmates will be doing work release at the animal shelter.) I could see thru a glass wall into the kitten room. There was a little girl (bless her), maybe 8 or 9, picking out a kitten. From the looks of it, she was having a difficult time making a decision. And she seemed to be trying to give all the ones they had out in the floor for her a chance, petting the shy ones, etc. It would have been terrible to have to choose just one...I would have wanted them all. I started to go in the kitten room, but I didn't. Knowing I couldn't take one would have just made me sad.

We have two pet stores in town. One is easier for me to shop in.

I don't shop at that one because the cat litter is next to the place where a rescue group has the cats available for adoption.

It's too hard to look at those little faces and have to say no.

I make a bee line to the cats whenever I go into any pet store. Why do I torture myself like that? I can't bring any more into Bella's home, but I still have to stop by to see and talk to them. OMG, if there are kitten there then I leave in tears!!!

I cant stop thinking about Tuxedo Sam. Now I am wishing I had taken him out and held him. My husband was waiting in the car. If he had gone in with me, we would have ourselves a black tuxedo cat like Max now. He just can't say no.
