Found this little guy (girl?) outside on our porch tonight. Has a cold, I think. Eyes are gunky (I cleaned them), and he's got ear mites. No sign of a parent or owner, and he's really thin, so I think he's been on his own for a while. Gobbled down some food and drank his fill, now he's lounging on a fluffy bed in the bathroom with some shreds of toilet paper, food/water, and litter for the night.

I really wish I could keep him (so adorable, and so laid back), but I have four cats and a dog (not even supposed to have the cats), so there's no way. So... anybody want a kitten?

Lol pay no attention to the pacifier - it bounces, so we thought he might enjoy batting it around. In the meantime... I can't afford a vet, so assuming all he has is a cold, any home remedies I can use to make him feel better?

There are no home remedies for viruses, in animals or humans. There's only two courses of action, waiting for a virus to run it's course and antivirals. A vet would determine if there was a secondary infection and give antibiotics or eye ointment to help with that. If it was herpes (and not every virus a cat gets is) then l-lysine could help. If he gets a really stuffy nose and goes off of food, steaming up the bathroom can help that.
But honestly, kittens need vet care when sick. They go downhill too fast.

Keep him away from your other cats and dog. Don't go near them with "contaminated" clothing - in other words, change your clothes after handling this kitten. Don't touch your own face in case there is a bacterial infection in the kitten's eyes.

Found a home for the adorable little kitten.
Showed him/her to one of the women who works in our complex office. She fell in love with it and she's going after work to get cat supplies
