Today's question is..

Do you like flowers and which is your favorite??

I like flowers but I like them alive, not decaying in a vase.
My favorite flower is an edelweiss (it's actually what my avatar is a picture of) because it's very rare and special, it's actually going extinct
If you're lucky you can find one if you go hiking in the Alps or some other high mountain ranges in Europe, I have a preserved one I kept from when I was little. I also like peonies.

My favourite is the Daphne odora leucanthe. Its scent is heavenly and I cannot wait as there are buds on my shrubs so it will be flowering soon - the smell is so wonderful and on a good day in Christchurch you can smell it as you are driving/walking along.

It is great as a natural air freshener in the bathroom too

My favourites are carnations, but i don't get them much because Miss Rosiekins likes to bend them then bite the heads off to play with
I've started buying roses now because she won't touch them

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
I like daffodils. They are the first things that pop up and make me get out of that winter mood. They are just so happy and sunny I love them. Plus its the only flower I have in my 'garden'...basically left over from previous tenants. LOL

I love the spicy scent of carnations. DH always gives me carnations when he buys me flowers because I like them so much.

But we have two lilac bushes to the west of our house and, in the spring when those lilacs start to bloom, I try to open the western windows in the house to let that scent go through the entire house. It smells wonderful!

LOVE flowers. Grew up with daylilies but also love honeysuckle and hyacinths and nasturtiums.

I must follow the scent trail through to fall, so... lilacs are the first in the spring. Next to bloom are the wild roses, and the yard is covered with that heady scent. Now on to more from a garden - sweet peas, then carnations bloom next and all through the season, the delightful smell of evening scent.

For looks, I love columbine.
For scent, well, I can't pass by a lilac bush without burying my face in the blooms.

I'm allergic to flowers, so I don't go out of my way to smell them... but I love the scent of fresh lilac.

What a lovely choice!
It resembles a heart!

For me:

Favorite cut flower:
tiger lillies

Favorite container flower:
not sure

Favorite garden flower:
snapdragons

I buy cut flowers once every 2 months or so and always based on looks (i.e. 80% of the time I won't know the name).

poppies, tulips, blue hydrangeas.

poppies are from my trip to spain-- I saw them everywhere while I was backpacking. tulips and daffodils remind me of home, and I think they're gorgeous. and someday I want to have blue hydrangeas in my wedding.
