Just a month from today to go before I leave for vacation. I can't wait! I already have my good friend Robyn lined up to kitty sit. She just loves Max and is looking forward to taking care of him.

I only have one concern. I've never been away in August and it is very hot right now. I have a window air conditioner, which I am considering running while I'm gone. Robyn will be in every day and if it is a cool day, she can turn it off. What do you think? Do you think it would dangerous (fire?) to leave it running? I don't want Max to get overheated.

I have so much to do before I go. I have to decide whether to buy a new car or have mine fixed (even though they can't find the problem and they believe it is a Chrysler design problem). I don't think I can trust the car now, even if they do fix it. Oh well, just a lot to think about before I leave.

Maybe you could set the A/C up on a timer? this way it would shutoff at night andd turn on in the morning. Less chance of fire.

Is there anyway Robyn could take your kitty to her home for that month? That way Robyn wouldn't have to come to you house everyday (except to make sure nothing is wrong with your house and to get your mail). Plus, it would save a lot of your Electricity bill!

I think the timer idea is a great one!!!! PLUS you have Robyn to keep an eye on things.

I am going to Niagara-on-the-Lake in Canada. We are going to stay in a B&B. The innkeeper is from England and I've really enjoyed talking to her when I set up the reservation.

For those interested, Niagara-on-the-Lake is where the Shaw Festival is held (May-October). You can see plays from Shaw and his contemporaries. They have three theaters and the town is gorgeous, situated right on Lake Ontario. Every year they put on 10 or so plays you can see. We have tickets for "The Turn of the Century" which is a musical. Actors come from London, Broadway and all over to perform at the Shaw Festival. We've had our tickets and reservations since January.

Max can definately not go to Robyn's house. She has a black lab, a rotwhieler (sp) and another small dog and four sons. Max would freak out! I'd rather spend the money on electrcity.

The idea about a timer is great. You people always have such great ideas!

Oh, I love Niagara-on-the-lake. You know about the wineries too, right? There are lots and lots of small wineries and vineyards in town, and you can go for wine tasting. If you look like you intend to buy something, they don't charge you for the tasting. Its world class, award winning wine. I would recommend that you taste the icewine at several places, its lovely, like liquid gold, and costs the same. Or late harvest reislings. If you want specific recommendations, pm me and I will tell you my favourite spots!
