Attention Canadians! Canadian Immigration Laws

Calling all Canadians! In celebration of Canada Day, lets talk about your immigration laws.

We have a huge issue in the USA with illegal immigration. I would love to know how Canada handles that issue. I believe I heard that Canada has a guest worker program, true?

Do people overstay their work permits/visas?
Does Canada provide free education and health care for illegals?
Are illegals deported if they are caught and detained?
Do you have the same "anchor" baby provision as the US - namely any baby born on Canadian soil is automatically a Canadian citizen?

I would really like to understand how the system works in Canada, and how it differs from the U.S.

How is getting into a debate about Canadian and US immigration Laws celebrating Canadian Day? And most of those questions can be answered by a simple google search.

You are the only one mentioning the word "debate." FWIW, I'm just looking for information from a Canadian's point of view. But thank you for your input.

I googled Canadian illegal immigration and found Wikepedia's article that said there is no creditable information on Canadian illegal immigration.

Off the top of my head I can honestly say I don't know the answers to your questions but am certain that if I looked for the information under the Government of Canada website that I could find it if I were so inclined.
