Happy Canada Day!

July 1, 2010 - Canada is celebrating 143 years today!

Hope all the other Canadians are enjoying the day off. Here, in Toronto, we have beautiful clear skies and sunny weather. It should be perfect for the fireworks tonight.

Rob and I are just starting the installation of our backyard deck/patio. Yes, even on our day off, our house renos keep us working. No rest for us.

We slept in, and now I am enjoying a chai latte while Josh starts a paper. We are going to have pancakes in a bit, and then head to a friends this aft for a BBQ!

Then it's downtown for fireworks!

Happy Canada day to all of my fellow Canadians! I do not have the day off however I DO get Monday off as my accounts are American.

A bit overcast and cool here but lovely nonetheless. Made the filling for the carrot cake I'm making for the family picnic on Saturday. The filling has to be made at least a day before the cake. I'm going to help a friend unpack this afternoon - she moved yesterday - then probably go out to dinner with her, her hubby and my SO.

I'm old.....so, Happy Dominion Day. Am doing nothing but basic chores today, no desire to do anything in this foul heat but watch the storm clouds brew to make more mud and skeeters. Have an open invite to go see the fireworks tonight but I think I am gonna pass - too hot and probably gonna be an outright downpour by that time of night. So will spend bits and pieces of the rest of the day with the cats and horses.
