Anyone got a cat with CRF and cystitis?

I've come across a few cases recently where a cat suffering with CRF also gets cystitis. My 10 year old female cat has had five bouts of cystitis since October and I was just wondering which happened first for your cat, CRF or cystitis? Does anyone know if there be a link between the two? I've got it at the back of my mind there could be an increased chance in her getting CRF now she gets cystitis.

Many cats with Crf have bladder issues or issues with infections.... For my RB girl it was Crf then

Have you done a senior blood work on your cat?

Coco got the bladder problems first and the vet said we need to stop it from getting to her kidneys.
she has CRF now.

No, my cat hasn't had her blood checked, just urine analysis and xray in February.

I've had CRF cats and chronic cystitis cats but never the same cat with both.

Please have the blood done... it may include crf or exclude it as the likely cause of the cystitis

The vet wants to see her again in the next couple of weeks re: cystitis, so I will raise the question of blood testing then, unless she displays any symptons of CRF in the meantime. Thank you for your replies.
