Eye color changing?

Baxter is older cat. He is black and his eyes a bright yellow, not gold..actually yellow. His right eye is turning brown.. probably about 50% brown now..

Is this painful for him? What could the causes be?

No idea really. What do you mean by older? 3 years? 15 years?
Do you have any pictures? Is the color change all over or just part of the eye?

I have two who are almost 2 years old and their eyes seem to be a different color every time I look at them.

Sometimes if cats are bleeding internally, it shows up in their eyes.

You might need a vet to take a look or a pet eye specialist - that is not normal.

Take your kitty to the vet and have his blood pressure checked. Most older cats do have high blood pressure and high blood pressure can lead to bleeding in the eye and blindness. He could have high blood pressure and need to be put on medication.

You need to take him to the vet asap. Certain colour changes in the iris of the eye can be a sign of a certain type of eye cancer which is curable if caught early enough.
