So, I had to euthanize my cat Friday evening.
The vet and I made a last minute decision to do a necropsy. I really didn't ask too many questions, everything was so sudden.
Does anyone know how long it takes to get the results of a necropsy? I thought the vet was going to call me the same day he did it because he asked if I wanted to wait or for him to call me, but I haven't heard anything yet. I know he's supposed to be out of town this week at some conference and I think he's off the following week too. I figured I'd wait a few days until I have to go in to pick up some medicine and just ask then if I still haven't heard anything. He started the necropsy Friday night and I don't know if he's been at work since then.
If it makes any difference, the vet originally diagnosed my cat with a tumor of the liver and anemia. I don't know if the vet was going to (or could) check to see if my cat developed hepatic encephalopathy.
Also, does anyone know if the necropsy will delay the cremation?
