Hi there!

I've lurked the board for a bit and just decided to officially join

My fur-son is Bruce, a grey tabby who now is about a year old. I was originally his foster mom from a kitty rescue when he was 7 months old, but as his brother and sister were adopted, I couldn't just leave him without a permanent home of his own!

So now he'll get to keep taking up the space in my bed, but I have come to love that

I learned long ago that sharing the bed with a cat is one of the joys, not burdens, of cat ownership. Of course, how active the sharing is varies from Punkin, who wants to sleep on the trunk at the foot of the bed, to Ella, who wants to be on the foot of the bed (and occasionally against your leg), to Sterling, who wants to be on your arm, if possible.

Oh my, three kitties on the bed, how fun! Bruce is definitely one to use me as his pillow. When I first brought him home, he insisted on being awake and meowing by 4:30 a.m. Needless to say, I had to have him adjust closer to my sleep schedule!

He was also named Edward. His sister and brother were Bella and Jacob...
I promptly changed his name to Bruce once I decided to keep him permanently.

Welcome from a fellow-newbie!

Kitties sleeping on one's bed is the best TG is the only one of my boys who does it though; he'll drape himself over my legs or between them and lay there and purr at me...

TG is also the one who decides when it's time for me to get up Although with my guest-cat Winnie here she's taken over both the bed and the morning wake-up call.

What prompted you to name them after vampires (besides Bella that is)? Biters are they?

Give Bruce a cuddle from me!

Hi there and welcome to TCS! Seeing as we have 8 kitties, I can't let them in our bedroom or we would never get any sleep.

However, we do currently have a foster in our room with us who is a little LOVE BUG and I adore having her snuggle with us each night.

I look forward to getting to know you and Bruce more!

Welcome to TCS! It's great that you finally decided to stop lurking and join us! We're thrilled to have you .

Bruce sounds like a special little guy. If you ever have the opportunity, I know I'm not alone in being interested in seeing pics. We love kitty (and all animal!) pics here. But, enough of that for now. How sweet that you've come to love sharing your bed with a cat. I have 4 kitties who love to snuggle as well as a dog who insists on being under the covers with me. I used to find sleeping on just an edge of my bed a nuisance, but it's gotten to the point that I can hardly sleep in a hotel room bed when I'm traveling due to not having kitties and dogs in bed with me! It sounds like Bruce has wriggled his way right into your bed and heart. And, that's a great thing!

I look forward to getting to know you and Bruce better. And, again, welcome to TCS. It really is a terrific place to be !

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcomes! I'll make sure to get some pictuers here, I have tons of them on my phone.


trollnystan, the kitties were named after Twilight characters when they were with the kitty rescue they came from. Someone there must have been a fan

I just looked at Bruce's photo album and, man, he is a cutie! It's no wonder he's stolen your heart and your bed !

Bruce is very adorable. I love the photo of him with the video game controller (darned if I knew which game system it's from) and the one wearing his Batman collar. How cute is he?! It looks like he's made himself quite at home with you and that he's got you wrapped around his little paw. But, that's the joy with cats -- even when they're taking advantage of their humans, they're precious.

I can't wait to see more of you and Bruce around TCS. Welcome again -- it's great it have you here with us!

It's an x-box 360 controller *puts on her game-nerd hat. it's a spiffy hat*

Thanks everyone! Boy does he have me wrapped around his paw haha!
He's just a great cat with a good balance of affection and independence, although he was a little crazy up until the end of his kitten stage. But what kitten isn't crazy?

Anyway, I know I'll like it around here

Hey and welcome to The Cat Site. You little kitty is a heartbreaker for sure.
Yes, having them in bed is one of the sweetest things for sure. I had to move my cats outside, but I still miss snuggling in bed with them.
