It's just the one, and it's slowly getting better. Still using 2 different drops, oral steroids, and artificial tears. You would think that the drops would keep it lubricated, but it's very dry and itchy. Still lots of floaters, and pretty red.
I want nothing more than to just scratch and rub the heck out of it, but I actually do know better
. I see my eye dr. next Thursday; hopefully, there'll be a whole lot of improvement between now and then.
Thanks for asking!

I suggest you get vinyl gloves instead of latex, they don't make your hands smell as gross as the latex gloves do.
Not only that, but some people are allergic to latex. I never thought about trying WM or CVS; I'll have to look at Target and at our CVS as they might be cheaper than what my hairdresser charges. Thanks for the idea.

Just plain old Visine.

ICK! No, please don't use that junk. That's probably one reason your eyes still feel so bad.

Go to the pharmacy and look for the single vial packs of 30.
Either get Refresh brand or Thera Tears - you want the kind for dry eye that's called a gel. It's not actually a gel, it's just a thicker drop that doesn't break up as fast as plain drop - thus longer lasting and more like real tears.
I prefer Refresh since I think they feel the best - there's other people on here who use that brand for that reason, too.
The single vial doses contain no preservatives which are often very irritating to eyes, especially if you have to use eye drops to frequently rewet your eyes.

I think Walgreens is even having a sale till the third on Refresh for $6.99.

Thanks so much for the eye drop info. I'll check it out when I get to WalMart this weekend.

Thanks, everyone, for the good wishes and sympathy. I see my eye dr. on Thursday. Still have a bunch of floaters that are driving me insane, but the swelling is gone, the infection seems to have cleared up, and I'm wearing eye makeup again.
I intend to ask the doc for some good eye drop samples to deal with the itching and dryness. Hopefully, the floaters will resolve themselves within another couple of weeks. I had a BAD case of them a couple of years ago---there were 100s of tiny black Cheerios everywhere I looked.

You don't trust me?
Most likely you will be suggested something like systane or thera tears, but not the individual vials. My optometrist is quite surprised at how sensitive my eyes are - I can't even use brand new contacts right out of the solution they come in.

Did I misread in another post? You had lasik? If so, you should be using a good quality eye drop all the time.

I always wear gloves when I cut jalapeños, onions and garlic. I have chopped onion and especially jalapeños and even when I washed my hands with hot soap and water, I have had my eyes burn when I rubbed them. the juice from the jalapeños burn my nose too.

OMG, that sounds awful! I hope it clears up soon.
I once rubbed my eye straight after making chili sauce, and let me tell you, you don't do that twice! Not as bad as your eye story though. I'm always afraid of touching the cats after we Advantage them, that stuff is so icky.

Of course I trust you; I can get the drops/gel from the eye doc for free, tho, iinstead of buying them at the drugstore!
(I am CHEAP!)
Yes, I did have lasik. No one ever told me to use eye drops all the time. Something else to ask the doc when I see her.

A lot of people that have had lasik should keep up on it. Some end up with dry eyes for good.
I hope the eye doc has some that work for you. I've been to a couple and all they had were tiny sample bottles with preservatives in them.

But as someone else said, if you use a computer you should be using eye drops (to all reading right now
. My eyes are currently hurting because I spent too many hours Saturday and Sunday nights making jewelry... I never think to use eye drops when doing crafts or painting, yet it's the same non-blinking strain that one gets from staring at a screen.

Now why didn't I ever think of that? I'm doing crafts all day long, and never stopped to think about the eye strain. Duh.
