We did get a couple pictures of Billy (11wks) and Joey(13wks) sleeping together yesterday! They did so well playing together yesterday morning, that we brought Joey into Billy's room for awhile...and they LOVED it. They chased each other, played together, rolled around together for hours. Joey would be on the couch looking down at Billy, Joey would swat down at him, and jump to the floor....so Billy would swat back, and jump onto the couch right where Joey was...and swat at the floor at Joey...and they would do it all over again. It is so funny, cute and wonderful to see. They both just love having someone to play with. I worry that Joey might play too rough..he is still a kitten, and we aren't sure if he can tell Billy is blind. Joey is only 2 weeks older than Billy but is a good amount bigger. Billy can hold his own, and Joey has backed off if Billy seems to hide...we watch them together and they both seem to like playing together! Billy isn't hissing anymore when Joey comes around like he did the first day.
We are not introducing other cats yet...just Joey because he is about the same age, and we figure he would be better about a new cat than our older cats.
When we adopted Joey 8 weeks ago we swore it was our last cat...but when I saw that Billy was going to be taken to a shelter, where he would have surely died, my husband and I could NOT let that happen so we took him in. And we are so happy we did.
His vet appt went well, he is healthy and the blindness just looks to be something that happened to him, not any type of sickness or anything.
As soon as I figure out how to post videos, I will add a couple!
I added a picture of Billy and Joey sleeping together, so I am hoping I uploaded it right...its VERY cute!
Awwww! Brought tears to my eyes!!!

Some people are so picky when it comes to cats....a certain color, a male, a female.

But you and your husband are exceptional people. Your requirement was need. He needed you. That was all that mattered to you.

Quality people don't come along too much anymore.

God bless you for taking this sweet boy in.

I just wanted to post a quick thank you to everyone who is saying what wonderful people we are for doing this...I really appreciate your comments even if I don't know exactly how to respond. We honestly just love cats and animals and could not bear the thought of this little kitten not getting the same amount of love as any other cat, just because he can't see. I appreciate everyone who thinks it was such a wonderful thing to do...for us, we just wanted Billy to have a normal life full of love which is something all cats deserve. He melts our hearts daily, as he learns new things and truly does not let his disability stop him from leading the life of a playful kitten.

New pictures of my lovely Billy

Trying to add images into the post, and yay it works!!

Billy is only 1lb4oz, at 12 weeks old. The vet didn't seem to concerned, so we are trying not to be, just trying to keep him healthy and well fed
He is doing great and loves playing. He and Joey are playing together a LOT and even napping together
He stays mainly in his own room, and we are hoping to introduce him to more of the house this weekend.

He is SO handsome!!

And you are so wonderful to adopt him. Most people would be put off by his blindness, but it seems like he's just as playful and loving as any kitty.

Is he really just under a pound and a half? That seems SO small, though my girl was a whopping 4 pounds when I got her at almost 5 months.

Oh, he is stunning. What a beautiful boy

To look at him, you would never know he was blind.

If that isn't a contented smile in the pic where he is sleeping on his back, then there are no contented smiles.

THANKS!! We love him. He just loves sleeping in my husbands arms, which is where is is in the picture of him laying on his back.

I work from home, so Billy is only alone at night really...during the day I am usually nearby, and check on him often. Today, hubby and I had a couple places to go, so he was by himself for about 9 hours. He has his litter/food/water in the living room, so he was all set. He has been able to climb the gate that is supposed to keep him in his room, but we were hoping he would not. He has been able to climb to get out, but we had never seen him get back in, and we were worried about him trying to climb the stairs and getting hurt.
As we get home, I walk towards the living room to check on him (he wears a bell collar so we can always find him
)...and my sweet little boy was CLIMBING the gate to get back into his room! He is just soooo smart. He heard us get home, and was going back to his room like he was never out!!! We just laughed. He is a sweet lil rascal. He is just learning so much.

We are trying to fatten him up....being just under a lb and a half really worries me! He is to tiny...short little legs, tiny little body. Definitely not malnourished, he is a grubby little boy but he is about the size of a 7/8 week old kitten, not a now 13 week old kitten. The vet was not worried about his weight, so I am trying to not worry for a couple weeks and hoping he grows some more/puts on weight. He loves to eat, and is a littler beggar when we eat!

(his favorite spot to hang out on his own, is the back of our couch on a fleece blanket, "looking" out the window.)

It's obvious that you and your husband are having a lot of fun with little Billy!!
I'm sure he'll gain weight before you know it, though some cats are just small. Like I said, my girl was only 4 pounds when I adopted her at almost 5 months old. Her last checkup she was 6 pounds (she's two years old now). Her vet wanted her to gain about a pound, and although I haven't weighed her, I think she's probably around 7 pounds now.

Billy looks so happy in all of his pictures!!
