Boo and MewMew are outside and haven't really seemed to notice at all. Maybe because they're too loud themselves to notice any other noise.
I also have loud neighbors, including a neighbor with a harley. All of the cats are used to it.

I heard some fireworks going off outside the other day. Two of my youngest cats (littermates) got up and ran, I thought they were going to go hide...instead they ran to the open (screened) window and jumped up on the window sill to look outside! They were REALLY interested in the noise rather than scared. Go figure.

Mine are definately more curious than scared over fireworks. Our previous home, there were always fireworks and other misc. loud noises.
It's pretty quiet where we live now though thankfully.

Our two are more curious than scared too. Although obviously the fireworks are some distance away and they're safe inside. I feel sorry for all the animals outside when people are setting off fireworks left right and centre. I wish they restricted the sale of them to make it safer.

The people in our neighborhood are obnoxious! I wish they could only set of fireworks on July 4th. Thank goodness we always turn on our fan and air purifier, we didn't really hear anything before we went to bed. But before that we kept hearing obnoxiously loud fireworks go off, and then someone's car alarm. Repeatedly. And my outside kitties do NOT like loud noises at all. I shouldn't even bother feeding them on the forth when everyone is setting them off, because they don't come out to eat it!

I don't think mine would care, we live across from train tracks. Close enough that a train makes the trailer shake and I have to pause the TV otherwise I can't hear over the train whistle(we live at a crossing.)

Fireworks that boom are illegal here but I doubt that matters to most. Might cross the river and get me some, my cousin's kid is having his 4th birthday party and they always do it on the 4th and fireworks are legal there so might get some to set off there.

The towns around here do, actually. If they catch you with them you will get fined - on any day, even the fourth. If they see you buying them then driving back towards town, you'll be fined and the fireworks taken... never mind that there's still several days till the forth and people buy some stuff in advance to put away because stands will sell out if you way until the day of and that you will be setting them off outside of town limits then.

My outdoor cats are perfectly fine. All of my immediate neighbors are in their 50s or older. Hardly people that would be setting anything off. I also have a tribal police officer, town cop, and a highway patrol all living within a few houses to mine.
(and more older couples)
I doubt the cats hear the firecrackers from a couple streets over with everyone's AC units on. The ice cream van and garbage truck gets more reaction out of them...

If someone has a good theory as to why Pop Goes the Weasel would rile up a cat, I want to hear it.

We always have a number of dogs, especially, come in right after July 4, spooked out of their heads and lost.

Oh, yeah. My parents golden retriever does NOT do well on the forth. Much worse then any of my kitties.

Abby is a bit timid of them, but she's mellowed as she has gotten older. When she was much younger, fireworks or thunder used to send her flying down the hall into the closet. Now she just picks up her ears, her eyes get big and she looks at me. Then sees that I'm not in a panic so she just settles back down again. Chynna is pretty deaf, so they don't bother her either.

I'm not looking forward to the fireworks. Lucy spends all of her time in the basement. I feel so sorry for her. Carly doesn't care and Much can't hear a darn thing.

We have some bad thunderstorms and the cats don't care about them so I don't think fireworks would bothers them but as I said everything that goes boom is illegal here and mostly old people live here so I don't think anyone would be doing anything anyways.

I hate this holiday (except for the time off from work). Fireworks used to be illegal here, but people still set them off. They just went to South Carolina to buy them. Now there are firework stands all over the place in our town. Ugh! I dread it. My crowd will not like this.
