I have been having problems with my car battery this past week. DH cleaned the posts and I thought that was the end of it. WRONG!!!! Thursday when I left work, my car would not start. A friend of ours came clear across town to give me a jump. He then followed me home to be sure I got there and proceeded to clean the battery posts even better than DH did. He checked the water in the battery and one cell was completely dry and the others were getting close. He put more water in the cells and said that I might need a new battery because of the dry cell.

Friday, the car started with no problems. I got to work and home just fine. Saturday, I had to be at our church early for a function. The car started just fine this morning too. After the funtion... well.... nothing!!! I got another jump and was told I probably needed a new battery again. After I got home, I rested a bit and then went out to the car again. No dice... the battery was dead. I had to get another jump!

I pulled the paperwork from when I bought the battery. The battery wasn't even two years old!!! And it was 96 month battery that lasted almost 24 months. I went down to Pep Boys where I bought the battery since it was still under warranty. About an hour later I drove out of there with a brand new battery that cost me............

Absolutely NOTHING!!!!!

The battery had a 36 month free replacement! It only cost me a bit of my time!

I knew, from your description, that the battery had at least one dead cell.

By the way, do you know what the difference is between a 4-year battery and an 8-year battery? Internally, nothing. Only the price. They charge more for the 8-year battery to cover the ones they have to replace.
