It's been a dark rainy day. The only action was nail trims this morning (for which I was forgiven after a brief shunning period)

Other than the exclamations of joy from the robins, who have been feasting on the worms brought up by the rain on freshly mowed lawns, it's been very quiet.

Suddenly there was a flurry of activity! (and of course I hopped up to get the camera)

Tolly, who was curled on my stomach at the time, was the first to react

Mazy was not far behind

Jennie chose an elevated vantage point

The diversion was enjoyed by all

The culprit of all this activity

Aww...do they click their teeth when they see a critter outside. I had one that did that and it always made me laugh.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
We have a bird feeder with suction cups on the window. In the Winter, the birds drive the cats nuts - in the summer, it's the squirrels. They learn SO quickly the cats can't get at them - at least one of them defnitely taunts the kitties!

Great pics!

Too cute!!!! You should see the craziness in my livingroom when a chipmunk runs through the courtyard. I think they are nesting in the neighbors and have chewed a hole through the wooden divider. I haven't called the condo maintenance office just yet b/c I don't want to spoil their fun!

Tolly chatters: akakakakakakakakakak

Mazy sings: prrt? prrt? prrrRRRT?

Jennie, who survived for many months and raised a family on her hunting skills alone, is deeply silent and still.

thanks for looking everyone!

Aww, mean little chipmunk is taunting your babies!! "You can't get me, you can't get me!!"
I'm sure they still enjoyed it though.

otto, your three babies are SO dang cute!! Holland has been absolutely loving the bay window in my mom's family room - it looks right out onto a couple large trees, one where a mommy robin had built a nest a while back (she and babies are gone now, hope everyone is OK!). She chatters at the birds, and she's seen bunnies a time or two, I love watching the kitties watch other little creatures...
