I Am Queen

I posted a while back that Holland and I are staying with my mom for a while. I've got my own space in the basement - and it took two weeks before Holland would come upstairs on her own. She still runs away from my mom, but she will definitely sit and stare my mom down...

Well, even though she is still slightly afraid of my mom, it doesn't mean that she's not queen of the house...

Oh, I wish that last "long cat" picture had turned out better... I just find it funny that she's still "kinda-sorta" afraid of my mom but she still thinks she owns the place...

Yay! Holland pics!

I'm thinking Holland is finding herself more at home, don't you think ? I guess she figures that if your mom comes 'round, she can just stare her down and then go back to napping on any one of her "thrones." And, in the last three pics, it definitely looks as though she is queen. The sofa can even pass for a throne! How cute is she?!

I'm happy to hear that she is getting more and more acclimated to living in her new space and with new humans. Slowly but surely, I think she'll come around. And, maybe, just maybe, she might just yet make your mom her new best friend.

She is definitely adjusting well. I am so proud of her. I think she knows my mom is no threat, but for whatever reason she can't quite bring herself to get a scritch from Grandma.

She is a beauty, and I especially love this picture.....

They always seem to have one eye open and you caught her!

Holland is just gorgeous. I wouldn't mind all-Holland, all the time. Glad she's getting used to your mom. Soon, Holland will be not afraid, and she will claim all territory as hers.

I love the first picture (of the second) set -- the one where Holland is napping with one eye open. It's a beautiful picture of an even more lovely kitty. And, I don't think that picture makes her look evil at all. There's nothing, in my opinion, that would make Holland look evil. She's such a pretty, special girl. And, she's one of my favorites here on TCS.

But, even though I love that first pic, I think the last one is the best. It's certainly my favorite. I would love to just snuggle up next to her on the floor and rub that tummy! She looks so sweet and innocent. And, I've got to say, I'm in agreement with Holland about naps. There isn't much that I'd consider better than napping -- especially when there's a kitty or two (or 3 or 4...and some dogs too!) napping with you.

She is SO sweet. I just want to curl up with her for cuddles! I swear, I want to smuggle her to Pittsburgh.
