This is a project that I think I am going to submit to the local art gallery. It is a combination of welded art and my not-so-great painting skills. I call it Lavender Moon
I am terrible at drawing which is why I choose to work with metal. Everybody has a medium that they are good at whether it is music, drawing, painting, sculpture, or anything else, you just have to find your inspiration!Originally Posted by LaRussa
That's fantastic, wish I was half as artistic as you are. I can't even draw a straight line and that includes using a ruler...
Thanks, I was trying to remember everying I learned from watching Bob Ross paint happy trees ;-POriginally Posted by strange_wings
The moon itself isn't uniform so your painting skills look fine for it.Though if you wanted a perfect finish you could use an airbrush or spray paint it. I wonder how a small paint roller would work, too? It would be easy.
I remember you were trying to sell some of your work. How is that going? Have you sold anything?
I try to keep all of my art reasonably priced so that it is generally affordable. It is 16" long by 10.5" wide.Originally Posted by otto
wow. I'd buy that. If I could afford it. How big is it?
I used steel for both the tree and the moon. The white background is just paper towels - not part of the actual piece.Originally Posted by calico2222
Beautiful picture! What kind of metal did you use? I wonder how it would look with a black back ground, an orange moon with a light metal...kind of a halloween feel. It's beautiful as it is, just throwing out ideas here.
I checked out your etsy page, and fell in love with the butterfly made out of fork and spoons! That is just too adorable! All your work is amazing. You are very talented.
I like her spoon pieces too. I loved the flower especially, but it's already been snapped up.Originally Posted by calico2222
