That's not so great in my house. Siri wants to sit by the door too, but not by the other cats. So at some point I hear someone growl and hiss and have to yell out of the bathroom for them to knock it off.
Otherwise it's best to shower when they're sleeping.

Regular bathroom usage is less mysterious, thus I usually only have 2-3 cats outside the door.. and Tanna's paws under it.

You're lucky they all behave while waiting for you!

That's too funny! Yes, my kitties are very well behaved during shower time - they are afraid of the water I suspect, and just sit and wait calmly by the door. Once I finish they all follow me to my room and jump on the bed to wait for me to change - nosy kitties!
Bathroom time on the other hand.... they RUN into the bathroom to make me company, even if for a few seconds - I am not sure what is so amusing in there!

I also have 3 cats. They all have to be in the bath room with me. The 15 year old brothers Claude & Tegato have always been bathroom kitties. They were both shower kitties but Tegato outgrew it a long time ago. Claude still takes showers every chance he gets. He sits on the side of the tub and sticks his head under the shower to drink the water. He will also meow at you to drizzle water on him with your hands as he tries to drink the water. He gets soaked at least 2x daily. He will walk around purring while he is soaking wet and wants to be petted dry. You can not get near him with a towel or hair dryer. I have had the brothers since they were born. My third kitty Starbuck I adopted from a friend in 2006 when she was 6 weeks old. She prefers to sit on top of the toilet seat and watch you shower. Once in a while she will sit on the side of the tub but away from the shower. She does not run away if you drip water on her but she does not try to get wet either. I was very lucky that my senior kitties were willing to take on the role of father to a baby and they get a long great.

Cluade will take as many showers as he can. When I get really bad migraines sometimes hot showers are the only thing that give me any relief. I can take 4-5 showers in a day if I am sick and he always comes running into the bathroom. I have posted pics on here of Claude taking a shower.

That's not good. Please push doctors into finding out what is causing this. One thing to consider is that hot showers cause vasodilation and would make your blood pressure fall - which if you had high or borderline high blood pressure could give you a little relief.

If I tried to do that during a migraine I'd probably vomit then faint, yuck!
(low BP already that heat is bad for).

Water liking/loving kitties are certainly entertaining. I have one outside that likes to be thoroughly soaked down during warm weather.

If we leave the bathroom door open while showering Sherman will sit on the toilet and watch. Tomas tries to get closer. Maybe in disbelief "you actually want to be wet?!" sort of thing. Once he learns that yes, we are actually standing under a spray of water he wanders off looking slightly offended.

My blood pressure is actually normal and it was never really high to begin with. I am on Propranolol as a preventative so my regular doctor does keep any eye on my blood pressure. I generally don't get nausea with my migraines. I have had an MRI and my regular doctor and my neurologist are aware of the showers being helpful. Sometimes my migraines have a sinus component to them and that is why the showers seem to help. It took many years for someone to figure out my headaches were migraines and not sinus headaches.

Just be careful.
I do get really nauseous with mine, plus sudden and prolonged drops in my blood pressure cause nausea and can cause fainting. A one two punch there.
Thankfully, I now only get migraines 3-4 times a year, the trade off was a headache the varies in pain level.

Sorry we went O/T!

Mazy cat is my Shower Supervisor. She sits on the side of the tub and every time I peek around the curtain she says "Prrt?".

that's a great pic Carolina!

Hilarious stories, everyone!

Thank you - I sneaked out very slowly to not disturb them, grabbed the camera really quickly and took the pictures before they left - They were still waiting for me

That's great! Genever does the same thing, almost always lying just outside the bathroom door when I open it after a shower. When I'm having a bath though, she will come in the bathroom and keep me company.

My boys make themselves scarce when I shower and several will investigate afterward. Bathroom time that is a completely different story.... I never go potty alone!

Archie in particular likes to take advantage of the situation - he will flop himself down on my feet for some lovins or climb into my dropped trou's and snuggle in - effectively trapping me.

One of Cat's biggest mysteries: why they must attend humans in the bathroom.

Of course it's not for US mere hoominz to wonder why. WE must just accept that this is what cats do.

Funny! And cute!!

My girls don't bother me when I'm in the shower anymore. They do come in and use the litter box sometimes though.

Now on the other hand when I have to go potty, I always have an escort! Abby sits by the door, or under my legs, or Chynna comes in and wants me to pick her up and hold her. Both will come in separately and use the litter box, that is a given, without fail!

There's no place like home
Nothing like a couple of cats waiting for you after a shower!!

My Koko attacks the toes of anyone that is exiting a shower. She's our toe cleaning quality control expert here - she must lick your toes as you step out of the shower. OK, so she licks toes while I'm cooking dinner also, so I know it's not the soap flavor she's after.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Amy, that's too funny - and Carolina, what a great pic!

We have a shower door now, but it simply isn't possible to shower without Flowerbelle in the bathroom. When he had a curtain, she'd always pop in the far end and basically not mind the mist that headed her way - she loved to drink water I'd let drip off my fingertips from shower water running down my arm.

Gary has finally accepted that it just isn't possible to use the bathroom without a cat in it.
