I've been so bummed about feeding Brady Whiskas tray food.
He seemed to enjoy FF souffle styles up until about a month ago and then wouldn't even eat that. I've been trying to get him to eat more wet food so he can lose weight and was stuck with the Whiskas trays since everything else seemed to end up in the garbage. And if I don't feed him enough, he just goes and kills something and eats that.

Last week I took a chance and got a small can of the Wellness chicken and herring - I figured it would be nice and smelly and Monsieur seems to enjoy the fish smell. He liked it, especially since I warmed it up. I took a chance and got a can of chicken and lobster (sounds yummy) and he liked that too! It looks like I might be able to upgrade his diet after all! Unless of course he pulls the "I liked the first can or two but now that you've spent $30 on a whole bagful I've decided I don't like it that much after all" trick he's done to me a few times.

Yeah been-there-done-that re: one can wonders. Fingers crossed that he continues to like the Wellness. My boys did kinda like the Turkey and Salmon one, too. Not enough for me to change buying it and them turning up their noses - except Tex- who eats everything and I do mean EVERYTHING.

It is always fun when they do the picky routine. For the longest time I thought Chester didn't like wet food. I as giving him every thing Nutro made, but only in the pate style. I thought the chunks with sauce would get all over his furry face. Finally I decided to try the chunks with sauce and he gobbled it up, without leaving his face a mess! Stinker!! Now he eats all the chunks and sauce varieties Nutro has to offer.

I'm glad that your Brady has taken to Wellness. It's good food.

Like your Brady, my cat is a very picky eater (is there a cat that isn't?) So far, he has turned his nose on many of the myriad of "premium" brands we've tried: BG, BFF, Felidae, Wellness (wet and dry), Innova (wet), Merrick's, Instinct, Orijen and Acana.

His pickiness has resulted in a smaller rotation of food: Evangers, TikiCat and Evo. After the last Evo bag is empty, I will not be buying any more because I refuse to buy any pet food owned by P&G. I've been trying out samples from TOTW and so far so good.

Sometimes I feel like the slave and he is my master as I'm always trying to please him.

I felt bad enough giving him FF and I felt even worse about feeding him the Whiskas. And at the same time my doggies get the best that I can feed them. The difference is that they aren't picky, heck the retriever would eat old socks if they were in her food bowl. I wonder if maybe this is why people feed their cats cheap supermarket food and feed their dogs better quality stuff. Most dogs will sooner or later cave and eat what's in their bowl, but cats will hold out long enough to get YOU to cave and give them what they want!

It is a bit of struggle, isn't it? Cats are so much like human kids...they often remind me of my cousin who, as a toddler, refused to eat anything but sliced-up hot dogs and macaroni and cheese.
The dogs, on the other hand...I could pour dirt into a dog bowl and my dogs would hoover it up like it was ambrosia.

I fed FF to both of mine while they were on liquid antibiotics, to cover up the nasty medicine taste so I could give it to them in food. That was well over a month ago, and I'm still struggling to get them back on decent wet food (Wellness is their normal wet food). You could try the Wellness Core varieties as well, mine seem to be a little more enthusiastic about those (although they're a little more expensive) - even Jack, who is mostly anti-wet food in general (he's a total Kibble Man), will at least pick at the Core chicken/turkey/chicken liver.

Actually I bought a couple of cans of the Wellness Core - they looked very good to me but I haven't dared try them yet. Brady is currently getting wet for breakfast, dry for lunch, and mixed in the evening. We've broken up his meals sicne he seems to barf if he eats too much at once.Anyway I have the easiest time getting quality food into him in the morning since he is ravenous and more likely to eat what is in his bowl. I suspect that if Monsieur decides to be fussy in the evening that a certain Golden Retriever get a fish flavored dessert after her evening meal.

Monsieur is having mixed reaction to the Wellness Core. He eats some of it but its obvious he doesn't like it as much as the regular chicken & herring or lobster formulas. He eats some but leaves some, whereas he eats all of the regular. I should be happy if he eats the Wellness and not push it with the CORE formula I guess.
