I definitely agree.

I don't know... the idea of supporting a business of a pet importer who might be putting the pets under some bad conditions or buying from who knows what source doesn't sit well with me. It's like supporting a proven cruel BYB in here (him or his source). Not good IMHO... Then $250 gotta be worth a pretty penny in Bangladesh... to give it away to someone's hand for a mixed cat being sold as purebred? Doesn't sit well with me at all...
But anyways... poor kitty... you guys think it is flea bites - ouch! ouch! that poor baby kitty

Not fleas- flies. bzzzzzzzz. Like what circles around garbage. If the kitty had/has ear infections the bugs would be drawn to the bad smell.

And it would be easy to draw blood on the edges of the ears.

To Masud - I have been thinking some more about this situation. I think the answer you are seeking is in your own comments that "purebred Persians are very rare in Bangladesh." Well, if this was truly a rare cat this person is selling - wouldn't you think he would ask a very top price for her? More than $250 USD? Pet quality purebred Persian kittens can be purchased from good breeders for hundreds more than that elsewhere in the world.

If he does not have papers on her than she is just a very pretty kitten with some Persian physical characteristics and with very badly, bitten-up ears. And probably other problems.

If you want a purebred, I don't know what to tell you. If you want a sweet, loving feline companion, pick a cat that you love and that loves YOU and you can be happy that way. This advice comes from a lady who has a house full of rescued cats of no particular breed.

Hi Guys
,
Bangladesh is a hot and humid place we sweat in winter lol
. The ear could be a problem, when i first saw the ear it looked like the edge was eaten and chewed. The owner took it to a vet and was advised to use dettol (type of antiseptic) to clean the edge 2 times a day with soft cloth.

The owner is a good guy, we both were searching for a persian and we dont have any experience. Then he got this kitten and after 1 month his family members donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t want a cat in the house so he is selling it. He loves this kitten. Itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s a female he named it COSMOS.

The original Importer/seller is a professional, i think he got the cat from some other pet keeper who may have a purebreed persian breeding with a local short hair cat. Few days ago I made a new thread on "should i but this cat... " there was another cat exactly like this one (same colour shape etc the original seller told my friend that he avoids giving cats to pet shops because they dont care properly so he preffers selling directly to customers... point to note) in the pet shop which due to lack to care is almost dead. IMO that cat and this cat are siblings and the age difference is about 3-4 months.

Caring the cat and managing the cat will not be much of a problem.

My concerns are:
1. I am paying so I want to know what I am buying --- SOLVED.
2. Current problems with the kitten --- Partly SOLVED donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t know the future, itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s a living thing after all.
3. Will its fur grow further, or did it already reached its limit. –- need help

I am actually very interested to buy this kitten, the kitten did some magic on me .

Please help to solve no.3 question.

Thanks you everyone for your help & support.

Regards
Masud

Everyone has very valid points, but if the magic has been done... well...
I'm sending you goodmind .

As for the cat, will the fur remain in relation to the size of the cat? From the looks of it, yes. Is that what you're looking for? A long-haired cat? Well that's what persians are, and a persian mix with the looks of being such a fluffy girl, well, she will be a long-haired baby.

Getting tired, but will think more about this overnight.

Wishing you the best,

Liz

3). It's a fluffy persian mix kitten, thus you'll end up with a very fluffy persian type coat adult. How well you care for that coat will determine how nice it looks.

One thing though, with persians, it can take a little longer for their coats to fill out.

How cool is your home? Do you have AC? I wonder if it's too warm there if she will be ok with a dense coat. Maybe that's why persians aren't as common? (that and cost)

Well I would think a Persian should be okay in Bangladesh. I mean Persians were originally bred in Persia which is now Iraq. Or were they just kept in the mountains?

The breed has changed a lot. The persian you see today isn't the persian of then. Back then that was just what they called any long haired cat and was more similar to an angora and common DLHs of today. Selective breeding has caused the big fluffy signature coat, round face and eyes, and more recently the smushed faces.

See, I don't know an extreme amount of breed history seeing as I've been much more interested in mutt kitties. Thanks for the education!
I just know more present breeds and not a lot of those. Like I said, I deal with mixed breeds primarily.

Me too. But I like reading what ultimately ends up being pretty much useless information.

My neighbors have what appears to be a poor bred persian/persian cross. It has the coat, barely there nose, and a pair of the worst crossed eyes I have ever seen. He likes to sit in their yard and mine and watch the birds in the mornings and evenings. He, and their other two long haired cats, make themselves pretty scare during the worst of the heat. I keep fresh water on my deck for the two that come over here since I worry about all of that fur and them getting too hot.

I LOVE
watching cats 101 on Animal planet. Haven't put them all to memory yet though.

What I hate is down south if a cat had long fur at all, it was automatically a persian or a himalayan. What? You think all long-haired cats are purebreeds? LOL

Hello

I guess heat wont be a problem since i have ac's in rooms and we have fans everywhere. I live in an appartment so not much sun available except for some windows.

I heard from a guy who is a doctor in iran, he says in Iran there are cats with such long coat that their eye gets fully covered with long fur.

Take care
Masud.

He looks a lot like my Boo in the nose. From what I read there are "normal muzzle" Persians and then the extreme flat nose, which are the only ones that can be show quality. After a quick bit of research there looks to be great controversy over the smushed nose/straight alignment (Nose, mouth, eyes, forehead, etc) of "Persians" and those are the only type accepted as show cats, and that the original Persian had a "normal muzzle" or a longer, more usual nose (Like my Boo) But there seems to be much controversy over all of this.

It gets hot here in the summer (90's already [F]) so I give my Persian a Lion Cut when it begins to get warm weather.

My father paid 275 for Boo and we have papers on him, Mom has hidden them somewhere. But he was from a BYB and his conditions were horrible. I don't know if I still have the pics of him when I first got him, but he was in bad need of a bath, poor baby.

Can't say on the fur. My Tortie was obviously a fluffball and she is now what I consider long hair, but it would technically be more "medium" hair. Boo is long hair, and will get mats easily. But brushing with a slicker (carefully) and keeping her groomed will help. I believe if you start brushing them as kittens they should learn to love it. Both of mine do.

Good luck on the kitten. She looks like she really wants a forever home. I hope things work out.

Edit: Meant to say that the controversy is more over stopping the smush face Persian breeding, from here http://www.pictures-of-cats.org/pers...-breeding.html

Definitely looks like a drawing of my cat Kami Kazi. Except my Kazi always looked like he was smiling. I loved that about him.
