We have been together since November 28, 2002. We have been married since October 21, 2005. We celebrate the day we got together as opposed to our wedding date, because his father died the day we got married, and it's too hard for him because of that to celebrate our wedding date, but that may change in time.
We also don't try to celebrate valentine's day. His daughter died at 1210 AM February 15th, 2005. She should have died on Valentine's day but they kept her alive long enough so she wouldn't. She died of meningicoccal (sp.?) meningitis. She was 6 years old.

Oh how terribly sad!
My best friend from high school - her dad died the day of her wedding. They woke up the morning of... and he was dead in bed. She went ahead with the wedding - it was what he would have wanted, and it was appropriate - but very sad at the same time.
Gary and I dated for 1 1/2 years in high school. So we met 31 years ago. He went to the army, I went to a Quaker College. We both married and divorced the wrong people. He looked me up after 12 years. We've been together this time for almost 17 years, married all of them.

The reason this came to mind is because tomorrow, 3yrs ago, I married the man I love.
June 23rd is our 3yr anniversary.
We have been living together since we finished building our house 7yrs ago.
We have been "together" for 10yrs.
I met him for the first time, 14yrs ago, and we were on and off during that time.

We have known eachother for 10 years, been together for just over two years and our first anniversary of our marriage is this coming Sunday!
I have been single for almost 5 years, and loving it! Prior to I always had someone, but now it's just Maia and I and I couldn't be happier!

Mike and I met in May 1978 and we were married Sept 1979. We will celebrate our 31st anniversary then.
DH and I met in 1975. We were casual friends with a common interest for about 5 years, then he vanished. A year or so later, he came out of the woodwork, announcing that he and his wife had separated, and could we get together sometime. "Sometime" became fairly frequent, and by the mid 80s, we were basically sharing two residences. We celebrated our 20th anniversary on May 22.
Well...
Met June 97, became best friends by Nov of that year. In April 99 we got together but I broke it off in June for a really stupid reason (nothing he did, I was just going through my own personal hell) but we were still best friends. In Oct 2000 we got back together (officially) and in Oct 2002 we got married. So almost 10 years together, almost 8 years married.
