I woke up early in the morning because I felt something moving around next to me. It was Mialo adjusting his head so he can watch me sleep! It was alittle
creepy...haha. I don't know why he was doing that. It sure surprised me though. He's never done that before. He kept on doing it till I got out of bed.

Any of your cats do the same?

Mine watch me sleep too. Sometimes Hurley will start licking me in the night, that drives me nutts. LOL

Ritz watches me sleep, too, when she herself isn't sleeping next to me in my twin size bed. Sometimes I think she watches me, willing me to wake up so I can either feed her or simply pay attention to her
'Course I also stare at her when she's sleeping, she's soooo cute (and if she is in a deep enough sleep, I clip her toenail(s)).

We currently have one of our fosters in the bedroom with us, so I'm assuming she watches us sleep all night. Yes, we also wake up to her licking us as she is fairly neurotic in licking us for long periods of time.

Every once in a while I'll wake up at some early hour like 5AM to see Brady staring me in the face. It makes me wonder how often he does that without me waking up! I'm pretty sure all he wants is for me to get up already and feed him breakfast.

Ku Ku often does that when I go to sleep. She puts her both paws on my tummy and sphinx. She's "meowmy-sitting" me until I fall into sleep, I guess.

I also woke up few times realizing that Ku Ku was sitting right next to my face and looking over me...

Silly question.. But how do you know what your cats are actually doing when you're asleep?

Mine will move over to wake me up - thus be near my face and looking at me. And they'll also look over at me when I shift around or make noise waking up. I've never caught them watching DH when he's sleeping and he says they're not staring at me when I'm sleeping.

I think it may be more of a case that you're staring at them so they're staring back, a thing cats tend to do.

Because when you open your sleepy eyes and a cat is sitting up inches from your face looking at you with such intensity you know you've been watched for more than two seconds. I think it depends if you have a staring cat in your life. I never experianced it till I got Rocko...he is so intense. He doesn't meow but stares and will touch you with his paw or lick you to get your attention.

I actually have woken up to all 3 cats and my sister Rachel in my room. Rachel and Rocko staring at me and the other two just being companionable. She said Rocko started it....

I have to be different here, but I have never caught Sweetie staring at me in the middle of the night. If I happen to wake up at some weird hour, I always see Sweetie curled up and sleeping soundly next to my feet.

I have a starer cat. Siri's on the back of my chair staring at me right now. I still think they're reading some body language that you're waking up, are close to you already, and thinking "Hey, look she's waking up to feed me. I better make sure she doesn't fall back to sleep.". Cats are never subtle when hungry - or bored.

BTW, the only thing I ever wake up to in my face is cat butt. Siri sleeps beside by head...

My cat will lay with me until I fall asleep then go to the hallway and watch me sleep... They do that cause they are protecting us. Mine is watching me from the hall to make sure no one comes in my room. She can still see in cause my door is cracked from her getting out to go to the hallway.
