At what age do you think you can gauge a kitten's personality? I'm going to be trying to place these kittens in the right homes and so far they are pretty consistant with what I thought they were when they were born. They are 4 weeks and starting to eat kitten food 3 times a day and we introduced a litter box yesterday. They all love people and I think they are going to make wonderful pets but I think some need certain homes based on what I see now in their temperaments.

I found the text in this book spot on, but the illustrations aren't helpful at all. Good over all book

This mat caught my eye because of its size and texture, which traps fine litter rather well. It's large enough for jumbo litterboxes, which is also a plus. It's not quite as easy to clean as a...

This scoop was a freebie with some clumping litter I bought last year, and I like it so much that I've bought a second one. It's perfect for fine clumping litter, which it sifts very thoroughly....

By now they should be starting to show their personalities. They will still change some as they grow. My babies are 7 weeks today and they are all so different.

So how old before you know if they'll be cuddlers or not? My two are not big cuddlers and I want a super-cuddler next time.
I have one that I think doesn't need to be in a household with small children. He's a bit shy and doesn't like to be picked up at all and I have small kids and know how much they like to handle and pick up kittens. I just wondered if he will change this trait by the time he's ready to go to a new home?

Dobby didn't like being picked up for a while either. Just pick him/her up here and there, just long enough to pet it and give it love and then put it down, let the kids do it too. It works for Dobby. He doesn't like to be held but you can pick him up and hold him for a little bit longer each time.
My kittens are 7 weeks old. My tabby female, Molly, is a cuddle bug. She goes and nurses on mama, eats, plays, and uses the litter box but when she sees one of us she comes running. She likes to curl up and sleep next to us and she loves to be held and loved on.
I also have a 3 year old female that I got when she was 1 years old. When you would pick her up she would start squirming and struggling to be put down. I have done her the same way and she is gettingf better. I can pick her up now without all the fighting. She is not a cat you can pick up and carry around like some of my other cats but I can carry her enough to bring her in from the porch or to put her in a carrier, etc. It took alot longer with her because she was older.

I think kittens REALLY start to show their personality between 6-8 weeks of age. I think you can get glimpses beforehand, but as they develop physically, they develop personality wise as well.
