Who else has a cat that goes bonkers for catnip? My Archie is a madman... he swats the other cats, and horns in on whatever nip I give the others.

This morning, I sprinkled some on the "trampoline" platform on the cat tree for Rex (fabric stretched over a frame)... and Archie came barrelling across the room, up the tree and body-checked poor Rex OFF the trampoline and onto the carpet below to get the nip!
AR-chieeee!!!

We tried the nip-in-a-sock, and the fill up balls. They like it straight in a dish on the floor. They'll rub their faces in it and roll in it, and then go catbatty with each other.

Oh, I definitely have a bunch of catnip addicts in my house
!

All four of my kitties love their catnip. Emory is my demure girl. Well, I think she likes to appear demure, but there's a feisty girl under that sweet facade! She loves her nip. She will lay down and nibble at it from dawn to dusk if she were allowed. She prefers her catnip sprinkled on the cat tree or on one of the cat beds rather than in toy form, but I'll occasionally get her going with one of her Auntie Em catnip toys. Cassidy is also a fan of the loose, sprinkled catnip. I'll occasionally put some of the catnip (her favorite is fresh nip) on the cat tree in my bedroom and she'll go up there and writhe on top of it until she falls asleep. Delaney is what I'd consider a catnip fiend. She is a true addict! If she sees it anywhere, it has to be hers. But, usually, that is only the case when catnip-filled toys are involved. While she does get a kick out of the fresh nip, she would much prefer to play wit toys filled with the most potent kind of catnip available. And, the other kitties best beware because, while she is never truly aggressive, she can be a bit bratty when the nip is involved! Nothing's sacred where catnip is concerned. My baby, Finn, is much the same way. He goes crazy over catnip-filled toys and he has a tendency to get a bit out of hand. In fact, there has been many an occasion where Cass or Em (and especially Delaney!) have swatted at him for getting in their space when he's too rambunctious.

Thankfully, none of my cats will really fight over catnip. But, I've still got to keep my eyes fixed on the little monsters -- when the nip is involved and we're dealing with an addicted person, err, cat, we all better watch out. He he

Ritz could care less about catnip. And I've even given her fresh catnip that I grow just for her, Things we do for our cats......(fresh smells much more minty, BTW, than dried).

We have catnip parties for the kids. Right before I'm ready to vacuum the house, I'll get the catnip out and sprinkle it around in little piles in the living room. One pile for each cat. They eat it, they roll around in it. While they're rolling, I'll sprinkle just a wee bit on each cat, so while they're washing, they'll lick it off. They go crazy.

Then they each get a nice snack and then I'll carry them each back to the bedroom and flop them on the bed. They'll move around and get comfy. I'll shut the bedroom door and let them sleep it off while I'm vacuuming the living room.

They don't like the Purple Monster (our Dyson animal vacuum), so this is a way to give them a bit of nip and shut them in the bedroom so that I can get my vacuuming done. They're happy and content and I get my work done without scaring them.

I haven't tried catnip with Mollipop yet. The last time we had a catnip party, she didn't care; I think she's a little too young yet.
