Any help on how I describe this rescue kitty? (pic heavy)

It's been suggested that he may have some munchkin in him - I just thought his legs are short.

I know he's DSH, tabby.... but other than that, technically what are his colors? Tan? Black... and gray? Or there is no "gray" in cats - he's blue????

He does have really cool markings for a tabby... but this is the pic where it was suggested he might have munchkin in him:

Most of our kitties when they stand up on their hind legs can reach the counter - this guy can barely reach the back of the couch!

...but maybe it's just the way he stands? Because here is his lying down:

This probably doesn't have the correct perspective, but does this help at all?

More pics of his markings (before we had him neutered, ear-tipped and brought him inside):

It's really hard to get a pick of him standing up from the side unless he's hunkered down eating - if he's not lying down, he's moving around.

THANK YOU!

Oh - another quick question. Do we describe his eyes as yellow? In all the pics they look yellow - but in natural light, they look a sea green. He has a a ring of green inside and a ring of yellow outside.

It's a slightly fuzzy pic because I turned the flash off, but this is what his eyes usually look like:

So do I play it safe and describe them as yellow? Or pale sea green?

Thank you yet again!

Looks like a brown classic tabby to me.

His legs don't appear too short, especially in the laying on side pics. I know an Ocicat girl with shorter than usual legs - no Munchkin in her, just legs a bit short.

Eye colour even on the outside pics look yellow to me, but eyes can be hard to photograph to true colour.

You could put the eye color as "yellow/green".

Agreed. Can't say much about the eye color though, could you say they are 'greenish yellow'?

Brown Classic Tabby with greenish/yellow eye color.

He's legs do appear to be a bit on the short side, but nothing like a Munchkin or even have that in the background. Munckins have VERY short legs. I think its the large head of the tom the makes him appear out of proportion.

Thanks for the input! I knew his legs weren't short enough for munchkin, but as someone suggested it, thought I'd ask the people who'd know. Thank you!

Lovely looking boy

I'm no expert on cat breeds here, but I would add the word "sworl" to his description. The sworl patterned tabbies are somewhat more rare than the normal striped tabbies.

You may be thinking of the marble tabbies? Or some of the other similar variations. But his coat pattern is very much a classic tabby - look at his shoulders and haunches, plus the distinctive sworl in the middle that makes him a classic.

So that's Charlie? He's a scruffy but cute guy. I'm guessing he's a smaller male - poor thing should have been neutered young and had a spoiled indoor life. The sink picture is adorable, if you can catch him doing that again and get a clearer, better lit, picture that might be a good one to put up for him. (the sink picture makes me go "aww" and want to cuddle him )

Classic, blotched, swirled - are all the names used for the same pattern. USA uses Classic; Foreign uses blotched or swirled.
