This often comes as a shock to people, but there are those who are willing to believe all bad and nothing good about President Bush, and those who are just the same about Al Gore and, yes, even (GASP!!!) President Obama. When you make such a comment about Bush, just hear in your mind those who have made similar unjustified comments about the other two.
Yes, those who saw all the intelligence from all the the various countries believed it, and voted for military action--even those who later tried to claim they were against it. Note that our current Secretary of State (Hillary Clinton) voted for that action, and stands by the vote when challenged on it (although she's tried to waffle a little about execution of the action, as I think any reasonable person probably would).
It is generally smart to ascribe the best of intentions to people, unless you have actual evidence to show otherwise.
And, do you remember me saying I've taught World History before? That I have acquaintances and contacts in Intelligence services? That I have friends and relatives living and serving in many foreign places? Amazingly enough, their opinions are divided, too.
That's why they can still build and sell both Fords and Chevys. People opinions and prejudices differ. (After he got rid of his last Model T, my grandfather couldn't pass a Ford on the street without muttering curse words under his breath.)
