Morning!

Today I'm going to be playing at a local music shop for Customer Appreciation Day. So...

Do you play any instruments?

I'm primarily a guitarist but I also play piano/keyboards, saxophone, clarinet, drums, bass guitar, and I do backing vocals.

I play guitar. I have a 12 string Yamaha guitar that has been gathering dust. I should sell it but can't bring myself to do it.

So many memories in it. Mom and I used to do weddings and even some funerals requested it. She was the church organist, so we sang together for many, many years.

I used to play the piano, and I can still sit down and play a few songs that I memorized when I was young. But music and me are not friends. I couldn't carry a tune if you put it in a bucket and nailed a lid on it!
Probably the only thing I would change about myself would be the ability to sing. I LOVE to sing....just no one wants to listen to me. Can't say as I blame them!

I used to play various instruments in the percussion section. Pretty much whatever I got stuck on that day. Not sure how many of those I'd remember today.

I know I can pick up a bass and play anything that I've watched someone else play or seen the music or tabs to - strictly out of common sense. I could probably do the same with a guitar as long as it wasn't anything extremely complex. I can do the same with piano. I don't know if this counts as playing, though.

I used to play the clarinet. I pick it up and play a little every once in a while; it's not pretty.

I played clarinet in elementary school, does that count? I wanted flute, but my dad said I had to do clarinet (as we had one) so I made excuses and stopped after a few years. I regret that now!

My husband bought me a Little Martin guitar last July for my birthday. I haven't had any lessons, just a friend who helps me. I have learned some basis strumming and can play and sing in the key of G. I can play in the key of D, but can't sing there. I have learned to used the capo so that helps. I had some problems learning the 3/4 timing but can play some like that now. Mostly I like to play country gospel. I like songs like Crying Holy Unto the Lord, Will the Circle Be Unbroken, the old standard gospel music. I really want to learn how to play bluegrass and pick some.

I took piano lessons as a child, played flute in the marching band in high school, and took guitar lessons in high school. I never really played any of them particularly well. I've thought about trying piano lessons again...

I used to play the clarinet from 5th-8th grade, stopped in HS then my mom sold it to my niece.

At that time I could also play snare drum, flute, piccolo, and sax.

Now I doubt I could make a sound on anything except a drum
