It's a bad lighting pic I took with my phone, but she's comfy getting ready for a snooze in the blanket

It has been an emotional and miracle filled day. Before the vet, she couldn't even lift her head, I'd open her mouth for the syringe and it was just effortless.

But after the vet, and a 4 hour power hour (we were both asleep on the floor) she woke me up saying "mew mew!" I offered her water she wasn't interested but still "mew mew!" so I quick got up and made her some food. She ate for a few minutes (on her own) and then RAN to my arms to curl up in my lap and stare at me. She RAN, the cat that couldn't life her head just hours before and on death's doorstep. She's now kneeding into her pink blanket and curiously watching one of the other cats groom himself.

I know she's not 100% all better and she'll need to go in a few days or a week when she eats enough to get her worms, to be de-wormed. But it's a great improvement that made me sigh with relief and pretty much cry at how great a miracle it is.

Thank you everyone for the positive vibes and words of wisdom and advice!

That's great news. I haven't posted in your other threads, mainly because I don't have enough relevant experience, but I've been following your posts and am rooting for you!

I think the vet confused you. She doesn't get worms from eating, she already has them and that's part of the reason she's so thin. Don't let her use the other cats litter box other wise you will have more than one cat to deworm. In fact you don't know what she could be carrying so she needs to stay away for other cats in the home for a while.

My mother always used to say certain foods would give cats/dogs worms - usually some human food. She never had the answer for why we would be eating the food if it had live worm eggs/cysts in it and would always get mad when I point that out.

The vet said that she needs to put on a little weight before they deworm her.
She's eating and peeing now. I made her her own littler litter box with a puzzle piece box. She was walking to it and couldnt make it, so she peed on the rug, but I could see she was trying. I'm honestly just happy she is finally peeing on a regular basis now. I cleaned the rug with a smile.

But yes I can't wait until we can go back and get her all taken care of, which will be soon!

I didn't read your other post yet because of the website problems yesterday, but I'm so glad to read THIS one!

Healing vibes from all over the world is also very strong and potent medicine.

Woohoo!! I haven't read the rest of your other post, so I'm guessing you took her to the vet today. So glad she's getting nutrition into her, mewing, using the litter box and getting better! Great work!

Thanks for the Happy Update!

Lydia-Dawn Omlette is so sweet. Those red cats, they are just the sweetest bondingest cats ever.

I second the caution of keeping her segregated until she has been dewormed and tested for FeLV/FIV. Watch for upper respiratory symptoms too.

I'm going to call on Monday and see if the vet thinks she's ready to be brought in. She's eating regularly and hoping that continues. She was so near death this morning that I'm kind of paranoid to sleep but I'm in desperate need of some ZzZz's. Last night was a rough one.

Aw. I am so glad to hear your kitten is ok. You can always set your alarm for a couple hours, check on her, sleep for another couple hours (That bites though, I know!) After one of my cats had a serious surgery I just laid on the floor with him and made us a nice bed in the floor and he stayed with me for most of the time.

Good luck !
she's a CUTIE!
