To make a long story short, my aunt passed away last weekend after a long bout with multiple illnesses in upstate NY.

A couple years ago she did a good deed and took in 2 older shelter kitties who needed a home. Tess and Tabitha are now about 12 and may be returned to the shelter.

My folks are unwilling to take on another cat at this time, and unless one of my aunt's friends are willing to take on her cats they will be returned to the shelter, even though they know that for cats this age that's probably a death sentence.

that someone takes these lovelies in.

Paws crossed for these two babies!
I love the seniors.....they are the best! Unfortunately, my Buddy would annoy the living daylights out of them!
I will say a special prayer in their behalf.

Ah, this is so sad. See this kind of thing all the time in rescue. Can your folks or any other friends or relatives call around and see if a rescue will take them in? I know it's a long shot b/c most rescues right now are packed with cats, kittens especially because it's that time of year. Also don't hesitate to use social media, mass emails, contact everyone you know, etc to see if someone will take the old gals. I am too far away and have a house-ful of rambunctious younger males.
