So this one is #5.
It's Imhotep!!!
I frickin' LOVE IT! I love having a brother who's a tattoo artist.
The picture doesn't even begin to do it justice.

Wow! That's an awesome tattoo. And, I've got to say, your brother is an amazing tattoo artist.

As soon as I saw the picture of your tattoo, I knew it was Imhotep. He's such a handsome kitty and I know you've written a lot about how close he is, in particular, to your heart. What a wonderful way to honor such a beautiful, special cat.

So, now we know you have 5 tattoos. But, what are the others of? I, myself, have two. One that I love and another that I don't necessarily like, but is symbolic and, therefore, special. I'm always interested to know what other people have tattoo-wise. Are your other tattoos cat-related as well? Or do they hold other significances?

Regardless, your new tattoo is terrific! The likeness is remarkable. Your brother really did do a fabulous job.

2 of the other tats are cat related.
I'll show you the tats in the order of when I got them.

This one is on my upper left arm. It means "friends" and my best friend and I got the same one together.
Not the greatest pic, but you get the idea.

This next one was one of my brothers very first tattoos. I was a guinea pig.
It needs a lot of touch ups which he was going to do for me last night but I had enough for one night, so I'll get it touched up within the next little while. It's an Egyptian Ankh, symbolizing my love of ancient Egypt. It is on my back upper left shoulder.

This one is on my lower back. It is a cat's eye with some tribal.

This next one was a Christmas gift from my brother and I got it a year ago last Christmas. He touched it up a bit for me last night too.

I'm already planning #6.

Wow, Kailie, they're all really nice! I love the cat one on your neck. And yep, I could definitely tell that was Imhotep! Lovely!

My sister and I have been kicking around the idea of tattoos. I'd been thinking for several years about Banshee's face on my calf. But since she's gone, I started considering a little cat's paw or maybe a pair of paws. Nothing big. My sister has an idea for hers, too, and we thought we could hold hands while they were being done.

My niece has three of them and is thinking about her fourth one now.

Awww Pam, you should absolutely get one!

They are very, very addictive though. I don't know if I'll ever stop.

The one on your neck is cool as hell. But man, I bet that was painful.

Actually it wasn't!
Now it was painful when he was touching it up yesterday but that was because he was going over the scar tissue. Really the only tat that was painful was the ankh but that's because he was still new at it and very heavy handed.

I have 2 tattoos also-- a symbol of a pilgrimage I went on, and a small dove in white ink. I got both almost on a whim, at different points in my life, and I think that's made me like them more! The dove is in white ink, on the inside of my hip (so that it could be covered by a bathing suit. It's smaller than a quarter, and pretty much invisible unless you're looking for it! I got it when I was 18, because I've always loved tattoos and really just wanted the experience of getting one.
I may cover it up with something larger/more meaningful someday, but for now it's there and I like it!

On my left hip, I have this:

It's a symbol of the Camino de Santiago. Last summer I walked 500 miles across Northern Spain. I actually got the tattoo as a spur of the moment decision earlier this spring. My boyfriend was in a creative nonfiction class and he had to put himself in a situation where he was "uncomfortable". I was very excited and told him that I should get a tattoo, which always makes him nervous. He didn't like the idea but push came to shove and the night before his rough-draft was due, we drove to the shop. I'd planned on getting "DON'T PANIC" on my bottom lip, but the artist said I had too small of lips, so we sat for a few moments. Then, right there in the store, I said, let's put this symbol on me.

Tattoos are definitely addicting. I'd love to have a half-sleeve someday, though I'm not there yet!

I guess I'm a whimp, 'cause I only have one. It's just a teeny, tiny toe-ring, because I got tired of putting on an actual ring everyday, and when I put on motorcycle boots, it hurt! Now it's permanent, and I love it. I started a trend, too, with several of my friends.

My hubby has 8, but I think his favorite is my handprint over his heart.

Kailee, where did you have Imhotep placed on your body? I can't quite tell. And won't your other cats be jealous?

All your tats are gorgeous! The one of Imhotep is really special. I have four tats myself (well, five, but one is horrible and covered up by one of the others), and you're making me want to get my next one.

Very nice marycatherine!

Imhotep is the side of my right calf.
Yes, the other cats are all jealous and the guys at the shop were telling me I now need to get the other 7 all intertwined around my leg...which I am strongly considering.

I love the one on your lower back! And yeah, he's really good.
I have been considering getting a tattoo of my cats on my lower back, one on each side with their tails leading to an Ankh in the middle. But now I have a third lil girl so I need to rethink that.

But I pretty much love them all *jealous*

Congratulations! It's beautiful. You're really lucky to have a brother who is tattoo artist. I only have one tattoo that says "Don't Stop Believing" on the inner part of my left ankle. I'm too scared to go in for anymore, especially any big ones. Piercings on the other hand...

I love piercings as well. I currently only have my nose, 2 in each ear lobe and one in my upper right ear however at one point I also had both nipples and my eyebrow done as well. I had surgery however, took them out and couldn't get them back in.
I'll probably get them all done again eventually though.

Oh wow! That is quite the collection. I have both my tragus done, my belly button, tongue and three in each ear, plus 1 in each upper cartlige. I rarely have all my piercings in my ears, usually my cartlige, tragus and one, maybe two regular earrings. I'm thinking of taking my belling button out, but we'll see.
