My Lucy Came Home Today

I got my lovely Lucy's ashes back today.

They are in a really nice wooden casket with a brass nameplate bearing her name.

I will put the casket on my bedside cabinet so Lucy will be back where she belongs. She always slept on my pillow or under the duvet if it was cold.

I have just one more thing to do to reach closure, and it's something I've been giving a lot of thought to.

I make cards and want to make a special card as a thank you to our vets for the years of excellent, kind and gentle care they gave to not only Lucy, but me too.

That is a lovely idea, to send your Vet a nice card. I always take one in at Christmas with a box of chocolates. They are such nice Vets and assistants.

My Max is also by my bedside...with his picture and his favourite toy. Wayne and Phoebe rest together under the peonies in the garden.

Your many wonderful memories of Lucy will no doubt give you a sense of peace at this sad time. It's so hard to lose our furbabies.

RIP Sweet Lucy

I am glad that you are getting comfort tonight. These last 6 months without Joey are still harsh. I still have to decorate his grave - I left it last December, covered in snow; it was sooo hard to walk away and leave a part of my heart
