Why Do They Do This?

When the house is mostly tile, they have to throw up on a throw rug or a bed (ours or theirs).

Isn't that the TRUTH!

Oh god I've seen this so many times. But my cats prefer the bed for their projectiles...I've actually gotten to where the sound of a cat hacking can wake me from a deep sleep. It's a trigger and I can usually get them to "safe" territory before they eject :P

I know that sound well, and so do my German Shepherds. If I don't get to the "prize" first it becomes a nice warm treat for them.

Yeah, when we had a power outage I know for a fact that Attitude lost it behind the TV. When the lights came back on there was nothing for me to clean up so her or Nuts had nice 'snack.'

Even though my favorite is when Attitude walks away while puking and leaves me multiple spots to clean up. Why she can't stay on one place to hurl is beyond me. Having to clean up multiple puke spots before they stain is so annoying.

Animals also never have diarrhea on the tile, it's always on the carpet. My Old English sheepdog did that, she puked on the tile in the kitchen but left a big old pile of diarrhea on the carpet for my mom to clean up(I was living in Vegas and my dad had gone to Indy for work.) I want to add that when I puked as a child my mom would call my dad to come home from work(he worked on the air force base less than 10 mins away) to clean it up or he was going to have 2 messes to clean up. She said she almost lost it multiple times getting it cleaned up. Remember- 80 lbs of dog= a whole sh*tload(no pun intended) of diarrhea.

Tiles are slippery. Uneven surfaces like beds and rugs offer more leverage when they

I think it's because the fabric surfaces hold scents better. Maybe it's more comforting too them. It's also a surface they can scratch/bury at.

There's one solution for this, no carpet or rugs. I don't have rugs anyways because Siri will pee on them.

I have one cat who will actually go into the litter box when having a hairball or throwing up. It's nice. Not sure which one it is but it's nice. It's SOOO much easier to clean up. Though most like to yak on their kitty tree which I have to clean. It doesn't keep stains very much so I think it was pre-treated or it's a scotch guarded rug. I got the tree from someone on freecycle which was handmade. It's really nice. But a pain in the tush to clean it up all the time! lol Especially having 6 cats.
