A Close Shave...

Today, Jazzy came inside when people next door started working on their new patio. I was on the computer, she came through her cat flap which is right near our computers. I noticed she was limping. It looked like she had her left-front paw in a sling! She walked a few steps then laid down, she kept doing that. Then we took her to the vet. She hates the cat carrier, she ran up the stairs from under the bed. We asked Ginga where Jazzy was, Ginga ran up the stairs and found her, she was under the bed upstairs! Then we got her out. One annoying car ride later, we arrived. The vet looked her over, she was fine! They said it was just a little inflamed. We are so glad that she's fine! We think she got scared when the people next door came and she jumped from their roof, not knowing how far from the ground it was. At the moment, she's resting on me. She is not aloud out, we are even thinking of making her an indoor cat! Has anything like this happened to you?

I hope you do make her an insider. This may have been a sign that she needs to be inside with you where it is safe.

That has never happened to me, but if it did I wouldn't ignore it. It would be a terrible shame if down the road, something serious does happen. You would feel terrible that you didn't take her inside when you had the chance.

Funny how you can ask your other cat where she is and she takes you there!

I am glad your cat is going to be okay. If you can't make her an inside cat, then think about an enclosure of some kind for your back yard. I would not be able to sleep at night if my cats were just turned loose to roam around at will.

Only closest thing I can relate to with that is playing with Chickster too hard with a stick and felt, and she was jumping high in the air to get it. I shouldn';t have been doing it that much and she landed a bit wrong (She's always been just a tad on the clumsy side and very easy to get hyper) and she limped on her leg for a day or two but then it was fine. She had sprained it and I don't play with her like that anymore. I keep the stick on the ground and make her run after it. Glad your kitty is ok

Thanks everyone, we're pretty sure she is going to be an indoor kitty. She stills wants to go outside but she seems to have gotten used to it fast. Well, I'm off to take Ginga to the vet, see you.

You did the right thing, getting her to the vet so fast. Lock that cat flap for good

PS Like your Ginga, Mazy cat will tell me where Tolly is.
