soo frustrated I'm ready to CRY.

I am sooooo frustrated and ready to BAWL!!!!

I just got home and found out that Heidi peed and pooped on my couch AGAIN. This time, the pee seeped through the plastic cover I had on the couch so now Im trying to remove the urine smell from the couch. Took me an hour to mop the floor, poured urine remover on the couch, etc.

I am just getting so tired of coming home and smelling urine. I have taken Heidi to the vet about 2 weeks ago and she got an antibiotic shot. She improved for a week but then started peeing/pooping on couch, towels, clothes, etc and I've started giving her medicine for the last week. (called the vet and she told me to give her medicine so that's what I'm doing now).

If she doesn't improve in a couple days, I'm taking her to the Vet AGAIN but am DREADING that cuz she shredded my arm to pieces the last time I got her in the carrier. Seriously- I was bleeding like a stuck pig. She is acting fine behaviorwise, etc. I will post a separate thread in health section about her peeing.

My biggest issue here is how to protect the couch! This is the SECOND couch she has ruined. I just bought a new couch and it will be delivered soon. I NEED to find a GOOD cover that I can put on my couch while I'm out and not worry about pee/pooping seeping through it and if she pees on it, i can throw it into the washer. Seriously, I JUST CAN'T STAND THE SMELL OF URINE. Right now, I've mopped the floor and poured gallons of urine remover on the couch but it won't go away for a couple days and I just am ready to cry because I don't want to put up with SMELLING URINE!!!!!!!

I have been using waterproof mattress covers (king size) but it seems like after I wash it several times t hat it's not so waterproof.

What CAN I DO to protect my couch?! I WISH she'd pee/poop on the floor instead of on the couch. That way, I can just mop it up. ARGGGG..

Any suggestions?? I am at my wits end on how to resolve this. Any suggestions on how to protect my couch without having to buy new waterproof mattress covers every week?!

Can you move her to a room like the laundry room and let her stay there during the time when you are not home.

I would confine her when you aren't home.

I agree, when you're not home, confine her. Whether it's another room or a kennel, that's up to you, but keep her from the furniture.

Just wanted to give you an update. I took her to the vet on Thurs and she peed/pooped in the carrier and I think it's good because this time vet smelled how bad the urine was so she gave Heidi a stronger shot and gave me some medicine to help with UTI so I'm keeping fingers crossed. She seemed worse on Friday- peed twice on a sofa (luckily I alread covered it in plastic) but since then, no peeing outside of the litterbox soooo keeping fingers crossed.

I don't feel right about keeping her to a room when I'm not here. She has been through so much and I feel limiting her to a room is punishing her and it's not her fault that she's having bladder problems. I've ordered special sofa covers (plastic) that are waterproof so we'll see if these works.

crossing fingers that Heidi gets better.

This medicine he gave for the UTI... was it an antibiotic? What was it? I sure hope this time he is trating her with antibiotics...

Has a culture been done on Heidi's urine? This takes a few days, because they grow the bacteria and apply different antibiotics to it to find what will be best to knock the infection out. Sometimes long term antibiotics are necessary.

Also, if she is forming crystals in her urine, antibiotics aren't going to help with that.

How old is Heidi and when was her last blood work?
