Kitten concern (10 weeks)

I am not sure if this is the right forum, as my kitten is a bit older than most discussed here. My apologies if it has to be moved.

Lola is about 10 weeks old and this concern started about a week ago. She was abandoned and found in the neighborhood.

Lately Lola has been sucking on the very tip of her tail, like she would with a mother I guess. While does this, she is also kneading her paws.

I am not sure what to make of this. Lola is fine otherwise (as far as I know). I know she's had a rough start to life, being abandoned, but has been with us for about a month and this is fairly new.

Ideas?

That's just her way of comforting herself. It isn't uncommon in kittens who were separated from mom at a young age. Nothing to worry about unless she injures herself from sucking on her tail too much. She may grow out of it sooner or later.

I once had a cat who sucked on her tail her entire life. I would think it would be the human equivilent of sucking on one's thumb. It never hurt her, and she never did grow out of it.

My cat, Precious, also does this. She started doing it the night I brought her home, and she continues to do it several times a day.. She is usually purring her heart out at the same time. I don't think it will hurt your kitten, as long as she doesnt suck so hard to make it sore. I let Precious do it, its her way of comforting herself.. In fact, I think its the cutest thing! I'd let her keep doing it.

Lola went to the vet today (for a vaccine) and we discussed this with her. It's an issue due to her abandonment. But there is no immediate need for concern.
