It was one of the most memorable nights of my life. It was a first date. It was a blind date. Best of all the evening turned into a mutual desire.
A little background. Our evening wasn't really thought out too well. It should have been planned a bit better. Bottom line was this. We had a female Sealpoint named Spazz (I know its an androgynous name). Her real name was GiGi. Spazz fit her personality better. She was a beautiful cat, on the dainty side, almost frail looking.
We had friends that had a male Sealpoint named Potay. His name came from some affinity he had with potatoes. He was a large dominant cat.
Here's the situation. Spazz was in heat, Potay seemed like he was always in heat. We all wanted kittens. Because of geographical distances we had to find a common meeting place. Well, the only place was an in-laws' household that had spayed Siamese sisters named Ying and Yang.
So, here's the deal. We were to all meet, and leave the cats alone. Then go out for dinner so they could consummate their relationship. When we returned, did we find lovey dovey kissy kitties. Oh...far from it.
Here's what the scene looked like. When we walked in, Ying was on top of the refrigerator, and Yang was hiding under the sofa. Spazz was crouched in the hallway just biding her time. Potay was on the sofa kinda just growling. None of us could go near him without him swatting.
So, we went into the kitchen to sort of hide to see what was going on. Potay jumped to the floor and went to Spazz, climbed on her back, grabbed onto the back of her neck with his teeth, and went at it. The problem was that his body was so much longer than hers, there wasn't good alignment. So, what was happening was that all his work was really doing nothing.
He would jump off and retreat to about 5' behind her all out of breath and panting. He would just sit there with his front legs stiff and pant to catch his breath. Then he would go for another try. Same results.
We figured this sequence was going on the whole time, because Potay was totally worn out, and Spazz just laid there patiently. That was their last date, and we never got kittens.
