We ordered the Purrfect fence! We are hoping to install it sometime next week, then cautiously watch to make sure it really is cat-proof.

whoohoo! I hope to have something that secure some day, but for now the fence I have, with harnessed supervised outings is doing us well.

Can't wait to see pics...and vids!

IMO, you should bury or line the bottom of the fence with something. We used old railroad ties. The reason for this is that a really determined cat could possibly go under and any animal that digs would be able to easily get under from the outside.

Our cats like the ties anyways. It provides them with a raised walking path - especially nice when the ground is wet, and something to scratch on.

DH has some kind of extra security plan for the bottom of the fence. And he has enlisted the help of a "professional" cat fencer to help install it. Actually, the man is a contractor, but that's only because we don't know any professional cat fence installers. We are so paranoid about our cats; it will probably be months before we will leave anyone completely alone inside the fence. I'm going to tell DH about the railroad ties, that is a good idea and I bet my crew would love them.

I also ordered the purrfect fence yesterday..I would think that the heavy duty wire system that comes with it that goes two feet up the mesh plastic fence and 1 foot on the ground and ground stakes would be safe...My hubby says that bottom part of wire is like lobster trap wire ...Which is metal inside coated in plastic..I am going to buy extra ground stakes for that ground wire..They send enough to put them in every 2 feet..
