Chinchilla advice

ok, so i came home from work today and my apt was like 100 degrees, and no i'm not kidding. my poor chinchilla. i know the heat is REALLY bad for him, so i got his small cage that i use when cleaning his regular cage and set it up in my room and turned the ac on high and put him in there with a bag of frozen veggies and a towel. his chin chiller was in his cage this morning when i left. so my question is, any thoughts on how to cool a chin down fast? my poor boy....

p.s. it wasn't suppose to get that warm today. i thought he would be fine.

Oh gosh, yeah, considering they live in mountain regions heat isn't great for them. I don't know what else you could do other than what you did. You obvisously can't get them wet. Maybe through the frozen veggies in any time you leave?

Other than that, I don't know.

not sure how safe but they make cool pads for dogs and cats... ie it keeps the animal at about 68degrees F ... it is non toxic to dogs and cats ...
