Hi
I'm starting write a business plan to open a non profit rescue group/shelter/sanctuary and the main focus will be on un adoptable animals (feral cats and elderly pets) Does anyone know where I can get info on how to create outdoor enclosures for feral cats that would give them a comfortable place to live out there lives.
I have a very big plan but I need to work out the details of how to cost effectively provide the proper stress free environment for them.
I'm trying to build a shelter in the most green way possible.

Lots of people on here have built enclosures for their outside (sometimes feral) cats. You should be receiving lots of suggestions soon.

Will each cat have an individual enclosure or will several share an area? If the latter is your plan, a regular chain link or stockade fence can be topped with cat proof fencing (you can buy it or make your own by bending lengths of wire into a "U" shape and securing it to the top of the fence.

Some fencing ideas:

This is a breeder's site in Australia. If I win the lottery, this is what I'd make:

Finally, I also found this interesting:

Good luck - your's sounds like a much needed service!

You might want to contact/visit Best Friends animal sanctuary. I know they have several feral houses, with indoor and outdoor areas, as part of the sanctuary, but I don't know the details. I'm sure whatever they have is the best, though.

I agree with Willowy, I've been to Best Friends and there enclosures are both inside and out with an adult and kitty door inbetween. the whole set-up and layout is very good. I think they may even have photos on their web page.

Here is the enclosure I built for two of my cats. (Make sure to scroll down, I later added "new" pictures)

Here are pictures of the shelves I recently installed, which they LOVE, btw.

Here are the tunnels that lead to the inside of the house from my cat enclosure

Here are the cat beds and the upper sleeping areas

You can see the tunnels here in the background going into our dining room window

Two kittens exploring the beds
