Please do tell me honestly, what would you all have said if Obama cut BP off at the knees the day of the explosion?
I'm not an Obama basher and I would have been happy about it. In general, I like Obama. I like our wildlife and our ocean and our beaches better, though. I think he should have taken action far earlier than he did.

How true.

I know what you mean. You know, it's not the critisizm that bothers me the most. It's that some people seem to take so much delight in it.

I gave that loser almost 50 days to do SOMETHING, ANYTHING before I started criticizing. Barack Obama gets no pass, if he can't take the heat he needs to leave the kitchen.

What do you want him to do?

I wanted him to let the berms and barriers be built to help keep the oil off the shore and out of the wetlands. I wanted him to listen to the people BEGGING him not to let BP use the dispersents. I wanted him to talk to the experts who could give him sound advice.
I wanted him to concentrate on this, the worse ecological disaster in the history of this country instead of partying down with Paul McCartney.

The materials they would use to build the berms and barriers are habitat for commerically harvested sealife, such as shrimp, clams and crab. Perhaps they considered it, but elected not to destory the livelihood of one group to make a questionable attempt to save someone elses. And I was under the impression that we've yet to find experts on this situation. Deep water blowouts and oil in marshlands are all new situations, so there basically aren't any experts on the matters.

And, I look at Obama "partying down" the same way I looked at Bush going to the ranch...as long as there is someone close by with a cellphone, he's still on the job.

I heard today they are going to take Kevin Costner up on his offer. Better late than never.

Also, they gave the okay for the Berms and Barriers after about 50 days.

Or, you could say "Better safe than sorry". They only now are finding out about the Methane...how many other "oh no" discoveries are going to be made, hopefully before they rush into something that would make things worse?

You might feel differently if you lived down there and the oil was encroaching on your shores while Barack "fiddled". He better pray every single night that no hurricanes come this season.

Are you really saying what you seem to be saying? Let the oil come to shore because it may not be SAFE to stop it? Ridiculous.

Yeah, we better not do anything, it may not be safe.

No, that's what you're saying, trying to steer the debate. I'm STILL saying, better safe than sorry. I can understand how Obama being pushed into rushing into a situation with unknown variables and getting some people killed would play well politically for the Republicans, but I certainly hope that isn't actually the plan. But then again, the complete disregard for everything safety and the disdain for the people who's job is to ensure the safety of others; certainly makes it look like a plan it may be.

The Oil spill itself seems to, "play well politically" for Barack's, "Cap and Trade", aka/Cap & Tax Bill.

On top of the horrible economy, the health care bill debacle, now he wants Cap and Tax passed. Get ready folks for another hand to slip in your pocket. Income redistribution x 10. EU here we come.

No addressing the point? So it really IS a plan? Push and push to get things into a rush and get people hurt or killed for political gain? That's pitiful.

My neighbor's sister is up here visiting from Mobile, Alabama. She claims that the media is blowing everything out of proportion and things aren't nearly as bad as we are hearing. So while one person doesn't make a majority, it truly surprised me to hear this statement from her.

Has your neighbor's sister been down to the Gulf to view for herself?

Are the pictures and film we are seeing fake? Photoshopped?

I find it very hard to believe that the liberal, mainstream media that have had an ongoing love affair with Barack for years would just, all of a sudden, just throw him under the bus for something that's "not that bad."

I surprise m'self saying this, but I like him too. He seems to be both an idealist and a realist. That's a combo that's hard to find.

Why, because he is a Republican?

No, the surprising part is that he's an idealist and a realist despite being a Republican
